These are the only infant/toddler utensils that my 17 month old - who only wants to feed himself now - can use and get the majority of food from the bowl into his mouth. The handle isn't too long, so it's not awkward for him to get it into his mouth, and the spoon part isn't too deep, so he can actually get the food off the spoon while in his mouth. I can see why it's frustrating for parents trying to feed kids with it, but it really does seem to be the perfect utensil for a self-feeder.

There are plenty of bite marks left on the spoon within the first 10 minutes of using the spoon by a 1 year old, who also chews on other silicone products (other soft spoons, toothbrush, teething toy, nipples, etc.) but leaves no mark; which makes me wonder if the tip is indeed silicone, though the Gerber customer service rep over the phone cannot explain and says that's normal sign of wearing of the coating. I don't want to use these remaining 3 soft bite spoons until my baby grows out of this phase of biting onto the spoon itself.

My daughter uses these but I'm not sure if I like them yet.

Pros

They do have a soft coating so she doesn't hurt her teeth and gums
The soft coating hasn't torn despite her best efforts at gnawing on it
My daughter is able to feed herself with them

Cons
They are very shallow and wide making it hard to load the spoon
I'm not sure if I like the metal handle

I ordered these for my 6 month old who is eager to eat. We had been using a plastic variety that had a very large (compared to my baby) bowl. My baby had trouble getting the food out of the bowl. These also have a very short stem, making it easier for my baby to control. He is in no way feeding himself, I scoop the food and brig it to his mouth, but he likes to hold the handle too and often sucks on the spoon after the food is in his mouth. These spoons have been wonderful. The relatively flat bowl has made it easy for him to get the food, while the handle allows him to hold it too. Makes me feel like we are moving toward eventual independent eating. One thing I would like more, is if the handles were rounded or fatter for himt o more easily hold, but he doesnt seem to mind. He also sucks on the metal stem.

I did not like the spoons at all. The head of the spoon is quite thick for me to feed a bigger baby. Also, it is so shallow to really contain anything in there for a little toddler to feed themselves without having it all spilled out. It feels like a sticky plastic. Their fork version are way better than the spoon version. Cannot even return them now because i already opened it. I do not recommend this product at all.

Haven't tried these yet, but the picture (green, blue, orange, red) they have of the "girls" (which is significantly cheaper) is NOT what you will receive. The girls colors are green, orange, pink, & purple.

We've tried several types of kid spoons for our 2 year old toddlers, including some far more expensive ones, and these have worked the best for them by far. They are the perfect size - small enough for their little mouths, but big enough to get a significant amount of food. And, I really like the slightly softer texture of the spoons.

These are barely curved (mostly flat) so it's easy to scrape food off on the roof of babies mouth. Too much curve means that the food gets stuck in the arch. These work good and I also like completely flat baby spoons.
