I ALMOST "Cheaped out" and didn't buy this. I bought the matching Pepper Mill without too much coercion, because I had heard such great reviews on it. I had a lot of "Amazon Points" so I figured I might as well buy the matching Salt Mill too. I AM SO GLAD I DID! When I first used it, I was really surprised that the salt mill actually gave me a 5 selection grind fineness, so I experimented with it. That, plus the sale I was using made a believer out of me! When is "Salt" BETTER than "Salt"? When you buy and use one of these!
