I bought this tortoise play pen after researching many. The cost is right - couldn't have built one for less! It's such a relief to be able to allow our baby Sulcata Tortoise's to play outdoors to get all the UVA/UVB they need & munch on grass all afternoon without having to worry!! I still recommend keeping an eye on your torti while in the play pen as it wouldn't take much for a stray dog to overturn it. We keep ours inside our fenced yard & I still check on them regularly. I doubt it would work for more than the 1st couple of years with Sulcata's as it's fairly small...but the size is part of what makes it sturdy & with li'l tanks, sturdy is important! I recommend this product for anyone with small/baby torti's!!

I put my 7 year old Russian tort on my deck in this pen on warm days and he loves it! He basks in the sun and climbs into his water dish for a bath, but when he wants to hide or sleep he goes into the house part. I put hay in there and when I open the door to bring him indoors for the night, I find him dozing contentedly in the hay. Great product - I wish the cage part was a little bigger for more activity.

This play pen is super easy to put together, only tool you need is a phillips head screw driver. I put it together in about 20 minutes and that was with two cats and a dog helping me. I tortoise really enjoys being able to get natural sunlight in his pen and I enjoy the peace of mind that I can turn my back a few seconds and he is still there. I would never leave him unattended for long because my Russian likes to burrow and he was already digging out of one of the sides. I was there to keep an eye on him so it was no big deal.

Tortoise is very happy she has an outdoor condo to grave out in the yard, munch on grass and be my natural weed killer. (Dandelions don't stand a chance with her, first thing she goes for). Easy to put together, only took 5 minutes with a power screwdriver. Wood is quality and it does exactly what it supposed to do provide a temporary, safe place for your tortoise to hang, sun, and graze.

I was going to copy cat and build my own as I did for her permanent quarters, but the cost doesn't match up. This was a better option when you throw time into it.

No regrets on purchase!

LOVE IT!!!!!! Very practical for my box turtles. I can take them out and leave them out (during the day) for a bit and not worry about them leaving or getting attacked by a predator. Make sure you close the latch and secure the bottom part or place it on a surface where they can roam but not dig easily. I even carry these on my SUV one time with my turtle for a vet check up! I like what it is sold to do. My only complaint is that i don't like that the wire cage goes all the way to the bottom. I put my babies in here, and they run to the sides, trying frantically to get out. If at least the bottom 3" were also wood so they couldn't see out, I think they would enjoy just being outside more. Also, why the triangulated shape? Why not just a simple box? I do like the shade area though, which the 3" babies have had no problems getting in and out of.
