Tasty But Not As Good As They Used To Be

When this product came out a few years ago, the box included the dry mix, as well as a separate pouch of moist raisins. These muffins were a big hit every time I made them, even for our tweener nieces, who usually look at anything bran as "ew gross." Unfortunately, the manufacturer changed the recipe, and now dry raisins are simply incorporated into the dry mixture. I noticed a distinct negative change in the moistness of the muffins. And is it just me, or did the fat content increase? At any rate, still a tasty and relatively healthy option for breakfast. And very easy--and fast--to make.

GREAT for fat free

I was surprised at how good these muffins were since they are fat free. They were a little more moist (cakey) than I like muffins but still delicous. I would definetly recommend adding some walnuts. I tried to bake it in a bunt pan and it came out a bit small, use 2 boxes for a full size bunt cake. For special occation, you could make a simple orange glaze to drizzle on top. :)

These muffins are not only very tasting but a healthy choice. They have a great nutritional content as well as fiber. They are rich in iron. My nutritionist recommend them. You can have them with your breakfast or just as a snack. You can add some chopped prunes for extra fiber. I just love them. Children love them as well. The best part... very easy to bake!. You need to try them.

High quality, tasty muffins with moist cranberries. I grated some orange rind and added it to the batter because I like the extra flavour. You only have to add one cup of water...no eggs, milk or oil. So easy and so good.

Replacement muffin mix

It seems maybe that Krusteaz has taken over the Ghirardelli muffin mix because you can now ONLY get the Krusteaz brand
which I can't understand why, and I'm not sure its really the same mixture. It's good but Ghirardelli was the best. Why take away such a good thing.

Not the same, but still good.

We've always loved these muffins, and we make them into pancakes, as well. They stopped selling them in our stores locally, so I was happy to find them online. I'm not in love with the fact that they've changed the contents of the package, but hey, they still taste good.

If you're not sure what the changes are, they used to come with one packet of Muffin mix - seeds already mixed in, and a separate package of Lemon frosting. NOW, they come with a packet of Muffin mix - without the seeds, and a separate packet of seeds, that you can use as you like. No more Lemon frosting is included, just a recipe on how you can make it.

I never used the frosting, anyway, so it's not a biggie to me, but if you loved that frosting, it's not in here. I just don't see much point in separating the seeds from the mix, as it just adds another step to the process of making them, and who needs that?

Best Muffin Mix Around

I have to admit, I would not be one to go to the store and pick out the muffin mix that said "Oat Bran" on the front. It just doesn't sound all that appetizing to me. However, I was raised on these muffins, so I know better than to look at their name alone. These really are the best muffins out there. I was disappointed not to be able to find them in any local stores, so I ordered them here on Amazon.com, and I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase. Simple preparation (mix with water, pour into muffin tin, bake for 20 minutes) and delicious results. I eat mine with butter and fresh out of the oven. You just can't beat it. YUMMY!

PERFECT for lazy Sunday mornings!

Ever wake up in the morning on a weekend and want some fresh baked goodies to go with your morning coffee, but can't bring yourself to go out and buy something, or to make a mess of the kitchen by starting from scratch?

These are your solution.

Not only are they absolutely delicious and have just the right amount of fluffiness, but they're SO easy to make. Instead of making muffins, though, I just scoop out enough to make about 4" discs of this stuff, and they come out perfectly. The hubs and I like muffin tops better than the bottoms (doesn't everyone?), so this is the perfect addition to your Sunday morning coffee. They don't get crispy and crunchy like some muffins do, but they're still awesome nonetheless, and the answer to your lazy-Sunday-morning prayers.

** TIP: I line my baking trays with aluminum foil after preheating the oven, throw little circles of this mix on there without greasing it up, and they come off clean as a whistle, so there's ZERO cleanup (aside from throwing out the foil) afterwards!
