It worked wonderful for my daughters 6th birthday. She is super into rainbows, and unicorns and such. I told my wife that beating it with a bat was probably a hate crime, but but the joy it brought my kid was so worth it. Its pretty tough, so her and her friends went at it with a hello kitty bat for a while. So you may want to stab some holes in it (also a hate crime I know) so that it bust open easier, spilling its glorious guts to be devoured by sugar raging young-lings. If they get stomach aches from the candy, I recommend a big old glass of (Harry) milk to wash it down with.

This was used for a teenager's birthday party. It was a very large group, and we were concerned about finding a pinata that allowed all of the teens to get at least two wacks at it. Based on other reviews, my teen chose this one. It worked out perfectly. We stuffed it with trinkets at three packages of chocolate candy. It was very heavy when stuffed, but the handle held the weight for the entire duration until it was busted open.

My teen absolutely loved it, as did her friends. I think it took almost 25 hits by some very enthusiastic teens before completely breaking. My neighbors said it was the best entertainment ever watching the teens swing and swing into empty air and then making contact with gusto! It was more fun than other pinatas I've used that didn't last long.

Cons: I did think that the hole was small when stuffing candy into it. But this is a small con compared to how long the pinata lasted in a large group of male & female teens.

This pinata fit a 2lb bag of candy, although that might have been quite a bit much as it was difficult to break and we ended up having to poke a hole in the top through the pinata itself to hang it. My daughter loved it however, and every kid got several turns at hitting it which was nice. We did have to break it ourselves but that is likely due to the amount of candy literally stuffed in to it.

Pros: my four-year-old boy wanted a rainbow birthday party. Cons: going back to Roman times, we have known that arches are inherently strong structures. Even when the pinata was mostly broken, this meant the ends were hanging down but not giving up the candy. Might work better for bigger kids. We needed some adult intervention to destroy the darn thing.
