This phone is a disgrace. Do not purchase.

First of all, it requires two AA batteries to run and there is no way to plug the unit into the wall. The batteries only last about three or four days then....you have to replace them. If you want caller ID be sure to purchase a huge pack of Duracell AA's at the beginning of every month.

It does draw some power from the phone line, so you will see the display very dimly when you are making calls. But without batteries caller ID does not work. Also the display is not backlit so you can not read the caller ID from across your desk.

Also, after 3 months this phone just completely died. I can't get a dial tone on it. I even tried plugging different headsets into this thing. My jack is fine with any other phone.

All of these complaints would lead to a terrible phone. But what REALLY takes the cake is this:

Every few numbers you dial the phone will just decide to leave out 1 or two digits. It will make some beep noise but not actually dial that digit.

If you make lot's and lot's of calls for business, like I do, this WILL drive you insane. I never really had experienced something quite so irritating.

The embarrassing part is I still used this phone for 3 months until it died instead of throwing it in the garbage immediately.

Buyer beware.

This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned. To start, there is no backlight for the LCD screen, and the screen is tilted backwards so you cannot see it from a foot away while sitting at a desk.

The phone also does not implement the two line feature well. Lines one and two are on a switch, so you can switch between either line one, or line two. If you have the phone switched onto line one, line two will not display Caller ID data if the phone rings. This is the same if you had line two switched, line one will display no CID data when it rings. The entire phone feels like a cheap piece of junk. The speaker phone hums, and sometimes will not even activate when the button is pressed. Stay away from this one.

I needed a speaker phone, this was inexpensive relative to others. It is junk. The volume on speaker is super low. It uses batteries not an external power supply which I guess makes it good for a place with frequent power outages. Otherwise, the quality is very low.

I purchased this phone a couple months ago. Nowhere on the box does it state that you will need to buy stock in Duracell to support your endless need for batteries with this phone. Why would a company make a phone that plugs into the wall require batteries? Why does it not say on the box that you should also purchase batteries in order to use the phone? Lame. I returned it. I should have known better than to consider an RCA product in the first place.

I'm very pleased with this phone it's actually more than I anticipated. It's fairly heavy/sturdy and the sound transmission is nice and clear. I plug a cordless headset into it and the sound transmission is good. My old unit had problems with occasional static and eventually one line stopped working entirely. I'm hoping this unit has a longer life.

If you work at home, this is a good basic business phone. Voice is load and clear, speaker phone quality is good. Wish it had a pugin for a corded earset, I have bought 4 of them over a couple years. There's not many choices in 2 line hard wired phones, but this is a good one.

I bought this phone a few days over 6 months ago. I have never been satisfied with the phone because of poor sound quality. A couple of days ago line 1 would not disconnect and calls to the phone did not ring. In order to turn off the red light indicator which designates the line in use, I had to unplug the line 1 cord. Now to answer an incoming call I must go to another room in the house to answer the call. The line 2 function still works ok, but my primary line is line 1. RCA was happy to send me a replacement phone which I should receive in 7-10 days, but in the meantime I can't use the phone for it's intended purpose.
