The laptop bag of my dreams - almost, October 25, 2008
I recently received this bag as an early birthday gift, and I couldn't be more thrilled with it. My laptop is the ASUS Eee PC 901 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB Solid State Drive, Linux, 6 Cell Battery) Pearl White, and I wanted a briefcase-type bag big enough to hold the Eee, its peripherals and stuff I usually carry in my handbag. The Mobile Edge Element does the job quite nicely, and with plenty of style.
I love all the pockets inside, which allow me to be as organized as I need. So many, and several obviously designed for specific purposes: cell phone, PDA, business cards, even a flash drive (or your favorite tube of lipstick!). There are four compartments for paperwork and files (or magazines!). The central section (which is 14.5" x 12") is fully cushioned, so your laptop is well-protected. A matching detachable cosmetics case is generously-sized, so there's actually room for all my makeup products. And even with everything else inside, there's still room to tuck in an Eco Friendly Laptop Lunch Bento Box-PBA Free-Pink.
This bag is extremely well-made, but be aware that it's polysuede and faux leather, not the real thing, even though it looks and feels like it is. That's a plus in my book. I also appreciate that the detachable, padded shoulder strap can be expanded long enough to wear across your body for greater security while traveling. In fact, I can't think of a single thing I'd change about the Element briefcase!
UPDATE: There IS one negative about this briefcase: It's notably heavier than the streamlined microfiber bags. And once it's loaded with your stuff, it can be uncomfortable to tote around. I've now replaced this with a nylon laptop tote for everyday use, and save the Element for times when I "dress to impress." If I could, I'd change my rating to four stars.

Good bag, just small, October 24, 2008
This bag has served me well. It is well built with strong shoulder and hand straps. The bag is a bit small, perfect for a laptop and papers, but I have problems finding a space for my sandwich and 500 ml water bottle. The bag has a mesh side pocket that is to small for even a plastic water bottle. I really love this bag and have received many complements for it. I only wish I could expand one of the pockets to better hold a textbook. Everything fits it's just usually tight.
