A simple, well-made product, just two plastic parts that screw together (and a small, plastic screen piece). While the 5 oz. (150cc) bottle is smaller than in the 16 oz. (480cc) model, the base for the two models is the same. This makes them interchangeable but is also my one *caution.* If you need this for a small space be aware: the base is big at about 4.75" wide x 7" long (12cm x 17.8cm) at maximum. The 16 oz. model stands about 7.5" (19cm) tall and the 5 oz. stands just over 4.5" (11.5cm) tall.

I use them in cricket keepers. With distilled water, a paper towel in the basin (so crickets don't drown), a way for the crickets to get up the slippery, 1" (2.5cm) plastic slope such as a few bent sticks, and maintenance (food, not too humid, remove any dead ones every day or two), the water will last and stay fresh about a week. Then just switch it out with a clean waterer. Along with standard washing, the plastic stands up well over time to standard sanitizing including soaking in a 1% bleach solution or washing with isopropyl (rubbing) or methyl (wood) alcohol -- but not to high heat, of course. If they get calcium or salts buildup, just soak in vinegar overnight and scrub lightly.
