I just received the Oxbow Timothy Hay I ordered, what is going on with Oxbow? This is not the usual standard of Timothy Hay I receive from Oxbow. I received mostly small ground up pieces and dust particles. I wouldn't have bothered to write, but I also received another hay from them today and it was also mostly small ground up pieces and dust. I always thought I could rely on the Oxbow brand, but now I'm not so sure.

I'm trying to transition my 9 month holland lop from Oxbow alfalfa to this timothy hay but they don't really enjoy the taste of this hay yet. I gave this product 5 stars because its a high quality hay for a good price but I bet my rabbits would give it a 3 for taste. Be sure your rabbits like timothy hay before you purchase this in bulk! Purchased this for my Roborovski hamsters. It's nice and dry, no mold or bug problems. They only like eating it from time to time because they're finicky, but a healthy option for them and gives them the extra fiber they need to keep their digestive systems working beautifully.

Guinea pigs are supposed to love Timothy Hay, but for some reason mine prefer the Orchard Grass. They love the seed heads of timothy and eat them all first in the timothy hay, but they won't eat orchard grass seed heads. They won't eat any kind of stalks or stubble and only consume leaves. Because the Timothy hay contains so much stubble and stalks, much of it goes to waste. Orchard grass seems to contain more leafy matter so I get that. The timothy bags have about a quarter of the bag at the bottom fulled with chaff, seeds and leaf particles. The Guinea Pigs won't touch it, and it is very dusty.

One of the problems with buying hay online is the freshness of it. Luckily this arrived fresh and green so my bunny has been enjoying it very much. It's not that big of a bag but it's enough to feed my bunny for a couple months at a time. I think it's better buying the smaller bag anyway because then you don't have to worry about the hay going brown too quickly.

My little piggies love this hay over any of the other brands we could find at the local pet stores. I think the only place we've been able to find Oxbow is at the local Petland, but it's a bit far.

Usually the pigs like to sift through the hay looking for the most scrumptious pieces, but with this they pretty much eat everything that's given. Excellent product would definitely recommend if your piggies are being a little picky with the hay they're eating.

Bunny loves the taste of this. I'm sure it's very high quality, but it's pretty pricey for the amount you get. I also hate the way they pack it. Lots and lots of dust at the bottom! I just got my order of Carefresh's Timothy hay. He loves it too! It was fresh, cheaper, I got more (32 oz), and it's all packed vertically. Minimal dust. We are much happier with Carefresh!
