What you want to know: Longrun review.

Sometimes I read these reviews and I think “yeah thats great, but what about after few months, how’s it working then. So i thought I’d add this review not so much as to the how it works or its uses other reviews do that well. This is mainly my opinion of this after using for an extended period of time.

There's not a lot to say about this is worked great right out of the box
Came quick with amazon prime shipping and is still working great.
I know it's not only one of its type but I recommend it as it's lasted us this long and is still working well.

After many years of computer drafting in many programs, both 2-D & 3-D, I reluctantly had to take a step back
in time for a professional accreditation class which I am taking. Well, having limitations in both space and budget,
I needed the smallest, most economical product; yet one with the features of a professional-type larger board.
Without going into the excellent product features, if you are drawing at 11X17 and your criteria is like mine, this

A friend purchased a larger Martin Pro-Draft table from an art supply store...that has since gone out of business. I knew the product was solid already, but the reviews of damaged products arriving through shipment, made me reluctant. Having no other outlet, I purchased this product....and absolutely no issue for me. The product came out of the box in perfect condition. This size, Small, is perfect for Ledger (11x17) sized paper. You really can't expect to do much more than that on this size board.

These boards are perfect for use on an existing desk/table, and leave you so much more floor space, unlike a cumbersome full size/floor drafting table. This board slides right into a pocket I created inside the footwell of the Steelcase desk I use.

"No one knows I can draw." ;-)

I ordered the small one of these mostly because of the reviews on what happened to the boards in shipment if they were one of the bigger ones, and I am HAPPY I did! the one I have is small but in perfect shape and VERY useful for every reason I wanted one of these. its nice and portable with a sturdy handle, the straight edge is very high quality (to me) and feels like something that will last well for many years if cared for properly.
I adore it!

I do like this board and it is certainly suitable for layout work related to cutting mats for photographs.
I purchased the XXX Large size to handle the larger mat boards and actually the extra space is useful.
I put a self healing mat on the board to allow cutting mats and it fits under the parallel edge with enough space remaining for the mat.

The main issue with this is not with the board itself but with the packaging. There are only 4 small styrofoam corners protecting the board during shipping and the first board I received was returned because there was a chip in the surface due to an impact during shipping on the center of one edge. The replacement board arrived quickly, but it had 2 chips in the surface due to shipping. I decided to keep the second board and repair the edges myself, so that was my choice. However others should be aware that shipping damage is a distinct possibility especially with the larger board.
The manufacturer really should protect the entire parameter for shipping.

I was considering a parallel bar for a nice walnut worktable I have. When I saw this portable drawing board, I liked the idea of not having to put holes in my walnut worktable and the time it might take to assemble the parallel bar (correctly). This portable drafting table was only about $20 more than just the parallel bar assembly. It sits on my walnut worktable and I can put it out of sight, when not in use. No assembly required and no holes in my table.

Mine is the 31"x42"
I am really glad i bought this one, it's easy to move when needed and it works great, I recommend covering the drawing surface with a layer of that clear table cloth you can get at walmart very cheep for grip and protection (medium thickness will do) and tape it down well (just remove the parallel bar and put it back when done).

problems: SHIPPING DAMAGE but I was able to fix that myself with white wood filler a black sharpie and clear table cloth.

might also get a smaller one for smaller projects i take away from home
