If you are looking for something to handle your full size binos, eg 8x42 or full size SLR camera, you are going to want to look elsewhere. However if, like me, you are looking for a comfortable strap to use on a small pair of binos (10x25) or a small point-and-shoot camera, this is ideal. The first strap I ordered would not even fit into the tiny holes on my binos, but this strap did with no problem. The strap itself is of well-cushioned material with alot of "give" so it does not irritate while use for an extended time - and the quick detach function is handy as well. Well pleased with this purchase.

I recently tried out a bunch of straps looking for an upgrade. This one is very strong - I subjected it to some "stress testing" and it didn't break, or even appear to stretch out of shape, after I was done with it.

However, it's also very uncomfortable - the neoprene that goes around the neck is fairly narrow and has surprisingly "sharp" edges, so it ends up digging into your skin when used with anything more than a pocket camera. The basic nylon neckstrap that comes with most cameras is more comfortable.

I'd imagine most people are considering this as a strap upgrade since it can detach easily from the camera. If that's the case, you can get just the detachable loops from OP/TECH, and attach any other, more comfortable strap to those:

I am surprised at some of the comments on this strap. The description states that it is for binoculars and SMALL cameras. The company makes a complete line of straps and if you need a strap to use it with a larger camera/lens combo, it is easy to find one. Just search for "Op/Tech" and select the one that matches your needs. Another option is to go to the companies web page 'opteckusa.com". Complete information on their products is available there also.

In my case, I am using the strap with an Olympus XZ-2 and it is a good match for a camera of that size.

The quick disconnect appear to be sturdy enough for that weight camera. The disconnects are the reason I picked this strap. I like to be able to remove the strap when I am shooting, something I could not do with strap that Olympus supplied with the camera.

I have used their products for years and have never had one accidentally disconnect on me. I find their quality and construction to be first rate.

Works perfectly with my Lumix ZS40!! This camera, like many other pocket sized cameras, can only accept 'string' type lanyard connectors. After searching high and low, I was resigned to having to modify a product to obtain a neck strap for this camera. Then almost by accident I came across this strap! I have never liked carrying a camera by a wrist strap, always afraid it would get knocked around. Plus, a wrist strap does not leave my hands free. My Lumix ZS40 is just a tad too heavy to carry in a pocket (unless wearing a coat or sturdy vest) so this is the best solution for me. The part that goes around the neck is comprised of two pieces of neoprene with almost 1/4 inch of foam sandwiched in between. Very comfy! Because this is a compact strap, it fits nicely in the small padded Case Logic bag I purchased. Just in case the string connectors ever wear out, I purchased a package of extras, also here on Amazon. There is a snap connector on each end of the strap where the connector ends cans quickly be changed out if needed.

My little 12 ounce camera came with a strap that was way too substantial - it was cumbersome. I wanted something smaller that could be disconnected / connected quickly. This strap is just what I had in mind.
Just in case, I bought an extra pair of "Mini QD Loops" (shown under "Frequently Bought Together").

the loops are great for micro 4/3 cameras. does not bind and provides a secure connection. the neck strap is made of a foam material that has a layer of rough and "scratchy" cloth on both sides. it is thin and does not provide adequate support when on your neck (i.e., it digs into your neck and the scratchy material causes discomfort. is it worth ~$12 ... yes, but it will leave you wishing for better.

I was disappointed because I didn't closely read the dimensions in the write-up. I wanted to replace my husband's very worn binocular strap. It looks just like the photo, but his old strap is about 2 1/2" wide. This strap is only 3/4" and is also shorter than I wanted. so, my fault!
