These trays are of excellent quality and weight. I am a bit surprised by the quality. I don't think I will have to be concerned with warping or chipping.

The tray has a herringbone like quality which is nice. The sides are polished and smooth where your thumbs would be when holding the tray; an excellent finish.

I purchased the black. To look at it, it is not ebony black. Its appearance is more of a very, very deep chocolate brown, but it IS black. Perhaps it is an illusion.

Hope this helps in your decision to purchase, or not, this product.

Do NOT order from this seller. I attempted to contact them to return this as it was not what I had expected and I was mis-led by the information thinking that I would receive more than one tray but they did not personalize the response or offer a resolution and only advised that I could return it, minus 15% restocking and shipment. I am not returning it as it would cost that much to return it. It would be a waste of time and money to do so. However, I will NEVER be ordering anything from them again. Most companies on Amazon have excellent customer service and frankly I order from Amazon on a weekly basis. This particular company, however, is not worth the hassle.

These trays are great. Color is nice, I bought blue, but there are numerous choices. I put my kitties dishes on the tray and carry them all at once to their feeding area. I use another to carry MY dinner to MY feeding area - in front of the TV! I'm sure I will come up with more uses. They have a nice sized lip, so if liquid spills, keeps it in check, and not on my lap or coffee table. I have used it as a laptop writing surface while sitting in my favorite recliner. Ooops! Once I placed a hot soup pot from the stove on one, and no warping. The trays wipe clean easily with a paper towel or sponge or I rinse them under the faucet. They are sturdy and I'm glad I bought them. Met my expectations and then some. And if it matters to you, they are made in the good old USA! And, 14" X 18" is the best size to carry your meal, typical cafeteria/fast food joint size.

If you need to transport a food item from one location to another: the CT141803. Is that bowl of soup too hot for your hands? Have you torn your rotator cuff throwing plates of food from the kitchen to your all-purpose (I'm not going to judge you) eating area? Does the number of items you could personally carry exceed the number of hands you have? Do you really want to make two (or more) trips? You won't have to with the CT141803. Maybe you just want to practice your waiter/waitress-ing in the comfort of your own "home" while you wait for your big Hollywood break - the CT141803 is the answer to all of your dreams. The CT141803 has done the math - it seamlessly fuses the advanced carrying technology of a piece of plastic with the space-age convenience of a little lip to keep your food in play (and to make the CT141803 easier to pick up).

PROS:

It could probably carry other things.

CONS:
If school/college was traumatic for you, this product, no matter how useful and convenient, is not for you.
The CT141803 makes for a terrible sled (I don't care what anyone says).
The CT141803 is an intermediate level date device. Your date is not going to be impressed with ease at which you transport their food unless that person appreciates practicality (otherwise, it's going to send up red flags). They should be somewhat familiar with your idiosyncrasies before you introduce them to the CT141803. Mitigating circumstances: if you're a really good cook, next level attractive, or you serve your food on a garnish of money.

What a GREAT DEAL!. I ordered these and only received one. I contacted the seller the same day and one hour later they contacted me back saying they would send the other eleven in a rush. Two days later, I received all 12 from Vietnam! What courteous people! The quality of these trays are excellent. I have been in the army, worked in hospitals and have used various trays. These are up there with the best of them. The price is totally amazing! I have other trays that I use for plants. These are #1! My wife loves the color too. I am glad that I made this purchase.

This is an easy to clean/disinfect food tray that fits easily in the back-of-the-carseat slip pocket. We pull this item out on travel trips when we stop @ fast food joints & eat while traveling in the car. The tray has a lip that prevents food or drinks spilling over, in case you hit a pothole etc. This makes for safer driving, since you worry less about passengers spilling items in your beloved car.

As I bought this in two separate orders, I guess I get to review it twice -

First, the good news - the tray is decently made and is the perfect size for setting up a place setting including silverware, a dinner plate, napkin, beverage glass, and perhaps another small dish, and carrying it into another room. I use it to bring my dinner from the kitchen to the living room where I (yes) eat in front of the TV.

The bad news is that there is no way this is the quality of a "standard cafeteria tray". In particular, the plastic is too thin and flexible, so that when you have the tray loaded as stated above, holding the tray by one side will result in it flexing to the point where the contents start to slide off. I am also concerned that doing this repeatedly will break the plastic lip off the tray.

But in summary, it is a decent tray and serves its purpose well as long as you don't mind always having to use two hands to carry it.
