Was in need of a new knife and I read great reviews on the Victorinox brand. A review from Lifehacker.com was what sent me searching for a good deal. The knife is incredibly sharp and easy to handle. The only drawback I see from this particular knife is that it is on the lighter side. Also the blade isn't full tanged stopping about a centimeter from the end of the handle and the rosewood handle isn't as nice as I thought it would have been. Feeling on the cheaper side. Aside from that it cuts like no other.

Great knife, VERY Sharp. Buy a nice cutting board (wood NOT plastic) and keep your knives sharp. I purchased a few Vicorinox Rose Wood handle knives and they are beautiful and VERY sharp. They are unlike any knife I have ever owned. I cannot over state how sharp these knives are. The other Victorinox knoves I bought are: Boning Knife, 6 in Straight, Victorinox 7-Inch Granton Edge Santoku Knife, Victorinox Forschner 2.25-in. Bird's Beak Peeling Knife, Victorinox Forschner Rosewood 14-in. Bread Knife, and Victorinox Forschner Rosewood 4.75-in. Utility Knife. I found most(a better assortment) of the knives at cutleryandmore.com and better pricing than Amazon.

This knife arrived very quickly in excellent condition. It is the fourth or third ten inch Victorinox chefs knife that I have had over the past fifty years. My wife won't use any thing else. They make more expensive knives for the pro chef, but this is great for the home kitchen. Bart

We've had this knife for about 6 months now, and it's doing rather well. There's maybe a slight nick that happened before we got around to ordering a steel. We bought a plastic case to store the knife since it doesn't fit in our knife block. It keeps any other utensils from touching the blade quite nicely. Tip of the blade it still intact. It's my wife's first chef's knife and I swear it's all she uses anymore. Our ceramic Santoku lives in our drawer now.

i use the fibrox version of this knife when i work in the kitchen cause its a great knife at a great price, so if someone else grabs my knife and messes it up i wont be too upset cause it didnt cost me much, but i'll still have to rip someone a new one for touching another chefs knife, NEVER TOUCH ANOTHER CHEFS KNIFE!, but thats besides the fact, this is a great knife at a great price the rosewood handles make the knife look nicer and i actuallly like how it feels in the hand better due to the different design of the knife handle

It's great. I meant to order the 8" originally but once I got this is was too good to return. It really is a BIG knife. Works well on squashes, pizza, other big things that need an authoritative knife. If you're looking for a basic chef's knife- go with the 8".

I bought this knife about 1 1/2 years ago. It's a great knife, cuts up veggies and meat with ease. Doesn't scratch easily. Looks great, feels great. 10" is a good size for a man with larger hands. As a woman with small hands, I might prefer an 8" knife. Either way I love it!

A great knife for the price from a good company. One of a 7 piece set I bought. The balance is pretty good, still a little heavier at the blade but not by much. The handle is a good size and the Rosewood is decent. That being said if you have smaller hands it may feel too big. The blade is stamped from rolled sheets of steel; a lesser company that may be an issue but Victorinox uses a quality steel and heat treating process. It isn't a full tang blade but for practical effect it is (not balance!). The tang extends a little farther than the last rivet, about 85-90% the length of the handle; so your palm is always on metal (unless you have gorilla hands). Victorinox has a line of forged full tang knives but they run about twice the price. 10 inch is a good size, a little big on a crowded cutting board but much easier to handle than a 12 inch.
