This tripod seems very sturdy. It took awhile to receive it but it did get here. The ring is made from cast iron and the legs are steel so it should take all the heat I want to give it. This tripod doesn't come with the steel screens so don't forget to order those as well.

This was ok for the price, but if I were to buy another, I think I would get a better one. The legs were somewhat wobbly, and they don't go out far enough to give the stand good stability. It's not going to fall over on it's own, but I wouldn't use it to hold caustic or volatile substances.
