I have a few of these and use them all the time for stiff neck muscles and headaches. The fuzzy surface is comfortable against your skin without needing a towel in between. I like that I can use it for hot or cold, although I rarely use it hot. The only problem I've had is that if it has some moisture on it when I put it in the freezer it can stick and when you peel it off it rips off some of the fuzzy material.

I am a writer and have RA and a spinal fusion in the cervical area. I got my first pack at the chiropractor's office. Like someone mentioned, it leaked. I was sleeping on it and the contents oozed out. I was informed they are only supposed to last about six months. At that point I believe I'd had it about ten months. I decided that the many benefits outweighed its limitations. This pack has a wonderful expanded area in the cervical section, which gives me added relief. It is soft and easily molds to adjust to the body. I use mine daily. I began ordering them online because I can track the date I ordered and order again when it nears the six month mark. For the cost it is well worth it for the benefits. I have ordered this pack for other author friends with the caveat that they should toss after six months.

A review said it froze solid, but mine normally does not. This might be due to the temperature of their freezer- we normally keep our freezer at 0, but occasionally put it down for a few hours, when making ice cream to pre chill our kitchen aid's ice cream bowl attachment ( the process is faster when the bowl is colder). I have noticed that the cold packs get stiffer the colder they are.

This ice pack is smooth and the cold is not uncomfortable to the skin due to a durable fabric surface. My husband, a massage therapist, recommends these to his clients and I use the packs for arthritis of my spine. We have been buying and using this product for about 8 years. Our original packs are still in use. However, the packs get warm quickly and you really need 2 of them. We have them in all sizes to fit the problem we have.
