I am a pregnant mom of two, ages 3 & 1. I got them in the car after shopping and realized I had to go! I wasn't about to drag them back into the store! I have a minivan. I crouched between the seats, and took a chance. These bags can hold a lot of volume! So, they're durable! Not a proud moment, but necessary! My 3y/o is great with them and they were a lifesaver when we drove 12hrs to vacation with a preschooler with a tiny bladder!

We love, love, LOVE our Potette Plus, but these inserts are waaaaay too expensive for what they are. They are just plastic GROCERY BAGS. Yeah, they have an absorbent pad thingie on the bottom (which is so stinky I get a headache), but you can get the same effect by using a panty liner (way cheaper), or a diaper turned inside out (and we had plenty left over when our kiddo crossed over to potty training) on the bottom of a grocery bag...and then you are just using things that would get tossed out anyhow.

I'm a single dad who has a 1 year old boy and 4 year old little girl. Too many times I have been at a park, movie theater, etc. and my little girl has to take care of business. Strategically getting two kids into an open stall, frustratingly begging them not to touch anything while I try to build a layer of toilette paper protection for my girl was so stressful. Anyway this product helps so much because it covers the top and the sides. You are crazy if you don't get this product. I'm a 42 year old man and this is the first time I've ever felt an obligation to right a review out of sheer gratitude.

First of all, I want to start off by saying I love recycling and have done the reusing of grocery bags with everything possible, potties included. Grocery bags work great if you're alright with all the added bulk. But with the Potette and Potette Plus, it's a very compact potty and the extra bulk can be obnoxious when you take it shopping/zoo/hiking/park or sometimes even annoying in the car. I use the grocery bags (preferably the thicker Target ones) with either a maxi pad (weird, but it works) or napkins (who doesn't have napkins in the car?) in a pinch. I tried to re-use gallon sized ziploc bags, but they were too small. If I am taking our Potette Plus out and about with us, I MUCH prefer to have these. Much more absorbent than they look. Faster to use. Just very convenient.

The bags could stand to be a little thicker, but so far, I've never had a leak. I also immediately find a trash to toss it in instead of leaving it in the car so this could be why I've never experienced a leak. If I can't get to a trash can, I do have a washed out plastic butter container that I'll set it in awaiting a trash or home trash, just in case.

Another reviewer mentioned letting their kid pee 4 times in this, but wow, I could never do that with my daughter. She soaks the pad included and then some in just one pee, plus I don't want to take the chances of using these bags beyond their limits (they're only meant for one bathroom break) and spring a leak.

The bags fit perfectly over the potty and hook on the super sturdy "feet" of the potty. At first my daughter did not like sitting on the bag so I had to MacGyver a solution.Read more ›

I bought the Potette plus when potty training my first child. Less than one year later, I am potty training my second. These liners are great! I know you could use regular plastic grocery store bags in a pinch, but when we are travelling, I only use these. First of all, a lot of grocery store bags have holes in them, so from experience, I can say that the mess of finding that out is not worth it. Secondly, these bags have an absorbant pad to help absorb more urine and it also helps to absorb odors. For those reviewers who are complaining about the quantity it holds, I can only imagine that perhaps they waited too long and were potty training an older child. When we were travelling to stay with friends for a few days, one liner held up to several potty uses before I discarded it. The Potette & these liners are best for people potty training their children between the ages of 18-24 months. I would not have been able to potty train my daughter & son as quickly as I did if I did not have this Potette system. This system allows for consistency which is key in potty training. It sure beats a trip to a public bathroom with a toddler! Just to give you encouragement, I was able to potty train my daughter in less than 3 weeks before her second birthday. My son is currently 21 months and after 2 weeks, nearly daytime potty trained.

We got a pack of these even though I figured we would use grocery bags instead. However, though grocery bags work, we will be getting more of these.

The absorbent square soaks up a good deal of the urine, which makes it easier to dispose of without it being like carrying a water balloon around. I have taken to tossing a little toilet paper into grocery bags before my daughter uses them to accomplish a similar end result. It doesn't work nearly as well, but does the trick.

It took me a few tries to realize you need to turn the bags inside out (so the absorbent part is inside, not outside). I didn't see directions for this. but.. its good.

update:
we are now using 5gal garbage bags from the store. Specifically the kind that come in a small 10bag pouch that fits in my hand. I can toss a whole pouch into my diaper bag and pack it with me with ease. Cheaper than these, no leaks like grocery bags. win-win. we put a little bit of toilet paper at the bottom before using.
