I needed to drill a hole to run a wire from a lower kitchen cabinet to the basement, but I don't have any other bits that are long enough. I was ready to head over to Home Depot to buy something like this, and then thought "wait- I have Prime." I checked on here, and found this super-long drill bit for under four bucks. I was then able to procrastinate on that project, which I was happy about.

I successfully drilled that hole, and this drill bit did not have any problems.

I have no idea how this compares to other, similar drill bits, but it was one of the cheapest options. Also, I have been buying only Bosch wiper blades for the cars for several years now, and I firmly believe that they are significantly better than others I've used (Anco maybe?). Not that automotive wiper blades are relavent here, but I have some faith in the integrity of Bosch products based on their wiper blades.

I suspect that this drill bit will have years- maybe even decades- of infrequent use. Also, I'm totally prepared if anyone ever asks "hey- do you have a really long drill bit that I can borrow?"

Great drill for extra deep holes needed for chasing termites in my house. Drill the hole and fill with poison. Need to clear the chips frequently due to short flute length....pecking is the order of the day.

Used it to drill hole in center of fair lead rollers on winch assembly. The holes were about 5" deep in round steel rollers. Holes used to create passage for grease. The drill cut very well. Seems like high quality drill with many more jobs left in it.

I bought this to drill through metal plates when installing trim around windows. It works fine, but I should have bought a shorter drill bit. I could have used a 3/16" 6 inch bit, also. The length and thinness of the drill bit would increase the chance of breaking the bit.
