I carry a seven level screwdriver, penlight, point file, pen and pencil in my pocket. I change shirts multiple times a day and I like a pocket protector to keep all this in one place. Take it out of one pocket and put it in another. Dress shirt, no problem, lab/shop coat, no problem, work shirt, ditto.
This one doesn't last very long. It actually rips out the sides at the top where the flap joins the pouch. I've been able to milk these along by cutting the sides off of one and sliding it into a second so I have double thickness where it slides over the shirt pocket. They seem to last a month or so longer.
Would like to find one about an inch longer and 1/2 inch wider like to old fashioned ones that seemed to last forever.
I've been using the "Clear Vinyl Pocket Protector w/ Horizontal ID Badge Holder by Specialist ID, Sold Individually" and have really gotten good usage out of them. It does hold up a lot longer. It's also wider and can hold more.

I purchased this product as a prop for my son's Halloween, nerd costume. The protector requires a deep pocket to work properly. I had to cut it to get it to work in my son's pocket. An adult could probably use this product just fine unmodified. It appears to be a good quality product if not just a bit overpriced.

Here's the thing -- if you store pens in your front shirt pocket for convenience, and you use clicky-pens, you're eventually going to accidentally push the clicky-top down while it's still in your pocket. That's going to lead to little dots of ink at the bottom of your pocket, which looks bad and ruins your shirt.

So the pocket protector -- I mean, it's really inexpensive, so don't get your hopes up for something sleek and elegant and beautiful. It's a plastic sheath to put your pens in. It fits in your pocket. It won't look classy or elegant -- it will look nerdy and practical. But it is a very inexpensive solution to the problem of getting ink on your shirt pocket.

This item is very thin and flimsy, plastic heated at the edges to bond the plastic. The first time I used it the seam opened. A little gorrila tape fixed this problem but i wouldn't recommend this product.

I was able to insert 2 pens and a pair of reading glasses into the plastic pocket and have been using it everyday now for a week. I bought it with the special of 2-for-1. I am very satisfied with this product. I have enough space for up to five writing utensils and my student id. Since I've purchased this pocket protector, I never go to class without it. Generally I store a black Sharpie, three Uni-ball pens of different color, and a mechanical pencil. Equipped with this pocket protector and that selection, taking notes, exams, and just writing in general has never been easier!
