Broke on the first use

I had one of these from another manufacturer. It worked like a charm and I only bought this one because I lost the really nice red one called "Easy Threader" by Schaller. So this crappy blue one broke on the first use. Then, I had to dig it out of the elastic casing. I can see here I'm not the only one who has had this happen.

So get the one from Schaller, but don't buy it on Amazon. Get it from the manufacturer's site (schallercorporation dot com) I got 3 of them for less than $10 with free shipping!

BTW no-- I don't work for Schaller, I was just wildly ticked off by getting ripped off by Dritz. It's really too bad this crappy brand is just about all you can get from Joann's Fabrics.

I'd like to know who the jerks at Dritz are who thought--hey, we've got all this crappy, brittle blue plastic laying around. Why don't we make something out of it that's really thin and would be a pain in the butt to deal with when it breaks in a waistband casing?!?!

Broke the very first time I tried to use it

This item is made from poor quality plastic. It was brittle enough that it broke the first time I tried to use it. Too cheap to bother returning it. I just threw it out. Will have to find a better one at a local sewing notions store.

Clumsy. No good in tight spaces.

It broke! It made it harder to thread the string because you thread the cod through the eyehole on this, and the that makes the cord "double-wide". The plastic is hard and rigid, and not at all flexible. I'll go back to the tried and true safety pin method.

I was satisfied with my little bodkin

Works well. Threads easier than using my little metal bodkin that I have to scoot along from inside the casing. For garments or bags with longer casings, this saves a lot of time. I was satisfied with my little bodkin, but I needed an add-on item and this was only a few $, so I'd say it was worth the price.

I had a favorite pair of sweat pants that had the string go bad. Great sweat pants, lousy string. I bought this along with a spool of replacement drawstring and had them repaired in about two minutes. I actually debated just buying the thread and trying to thread it around without it. When they came, I tried it first to see if I'd wasted the money on the threader. It was aggravating and nearly impossible without the threader. Plus, with this and the extra string from the spool, I'm good to go for the next six or eight draw strings that go bad.

Works well, this was a replacement for the one that I broke. Can't get too aggressive while pulling cord into tight channels without breaking. Shipping on this product is horrible, Amazon is usually pretty efficient but really two weeks to get this product ?

Received broken in package/envelope!

Arrived broken 'this end first' with a permanent bend in its middle that make one suspicious that it will break there also once inserted to garment for its intended use!

I'll go back to using a free wire clothes hanger before I use this item and end up frustrated because I'd probably have to waste time fishing out the broken pieces and try again with the hanger!
