1.0 out of 5 stars It was cool, til it died, March 11, 2009
I've had mines since October 2008. It worked okay for a while (slower with bigger files), but I did have an incident where it corrupted my files. It was okay because I had them backed up & I just reformatted it & went on being careful not to put anything important on there. After 5 months it died on me. I have a lot of flash drives some have lasted me since 2001 & are still running. I would expect better performance & life expectancy for something that was indestructible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Super Portable, Waterproof...but., February 26, 2009

Pros:
Really small size can be a good thing depending on your preference. I have it on my keychain and it doesn't add much so I, personally, like its size. It's also suppose to be waterproof and very durable. However, I haven't had it long enough to say how durable it is.

Cons:
It is kind of hard to put into most usb slots. Once you use this drive on the same usb slot, the slot itself seems to get loose. I noticed that my other usb drive slide into the usb slot a lot easier after using the Pico-C.

4.0 out of 5 stars PICO USA 8GB flash drive, practicality and price in a small package., December 14, 2008
By Jason Jm Kayorie (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
So, I finally decided to get rid of my physically massive 512MB flash drive that I've been holding onto for years. Bought it in 2003 on sale for $129.00 and I thought I was stylin then.

Now look at me. Here I sit with a flash drive that has 800x more storage space than my first computer's hard drive (that's 100MB for the math challenged amongst you) and its smaller than a Canadian $1 coin.

So, on to the review.

Ease of use: there was a teeny bit of a learning curve trying to plug it in for the first time. Its a tight fit on most of my USB ports (mother board, PS3, etc). I was afraid to damage them or the drive if I used too much pressure. But once I got the hang of it, plugging in and removing was a cinch.

Write speed: I'm very impressed. At first I thought it seemed slow (3min to upload a file) then I realized that the file I was uploading was 4GB and I didn't feel so bad. Read times are great too. I was able to unload said 4GB file to my PS3 in less than 2 minutes.

Aesthetics: It looks awesome, like a little medallion. In fact, I'm going to go get a decent clasp and necklace to hang it from. Unfortunately, one of my complaints about the drive is the chain it comes with. It's very flimsy and looks exceptionally cheep. Like something you would get on a Dollar store key chain. I certainly wouldn't want to hang my keys from it (not to mention having it bang around with your keys would scratch the drives finish and possibly damage the connections).

Sturdiness: Well, I haven't tried to damage it yet, and don't really fancy giving it a go, but it looks and feels solid enough to handle most general bangs and I doubt dropping it from any height would do much. I was unaware that it was water resistant, so that's a plus. I'd recommend that you dry it off before using it should you decide to go dipping it in the toilet or something to test out this feature. One other thing that I want to warn you about is it's running temperature after a long session. It gets hot, damn hot, and this does effect write speed. It wasn't hot enough to burn, but enough that I was concerned.

Overall: I'm very impressed. For the size and price, you cant really do much better these days. I'm definitely going to be giving some of these away for Xmas this year. I would have liked to give this a 5 star review but due to the chain and overheating, I'm going to have to knock off some points.
