Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
Whomever had the bright idea of packaging these two very different Jeff Beck albums together should be knighted. It just so happened that I was interested in acquiring both so stumbling upon this was a bit of a surprise. They are both culled from the latest remastered editions which was paramount, the price from an Amazon 3rd party merchant was the proverbial icing and sealed the deal. If you need an upgrade or were looking to explore Mr. JB's world (as was I), you can do no better. The liner notes on the remaster of the debut JB solo LP, Truth, are a rip-snorting good read. The funkiness of the instrumental jazz-rock masterpiece, Blow by Blow, just may be his crowning achievement. Logically, these two albums should not be together, one is essentially proto metal blues, one jazz fusion. File under: best dang Jeff Beck on the planet.
