Yes, I know, it is cheaper to puchase DMC thread individually but I simply have gotten tired of the mangled skeins from the bins in the stores. The cheaper price is simply not worth the mangled mess the skeins generally offer when you are trying to wind them on the bobbins. These skeins were neat and very easy to separate without tangles. The color selection is nothing unique or unusual but good on the basics that every collection needs. The colors were essentially the basic pastel colors, headed towards a primitive color collection. There were a couple of creams, two shades of browns, no blacks and the rest were shades of pastels. A great stash builder. I also ordered the "Holiday Collection" and there were no duplications between the two. What I spent in extra cost I have more than recovered in time winding the skeins to bobbins.

Colors are nice and no repeats, and it seems to have "shades" of colors, so when I am embroidering, I can vary my colors, such as grass, from light to dark green. I paid for the convenience of having these picked out and shipped to me, but in no way is this a value pack or a good deal, as I paid a lot more than I would have at the craft store. However, in the essence of time, I just bought these. The quality is great, and it comes with patterns, which I will probably not use as they are not my style.

Very very very nice colors! You can't go wrong with DMC, great quality thread and a variety of shades within each color. I can use this with projects that ask for similar tones that I might not have and still works great.
It's a shame that they didn't include black and white floss, but there's a very dark thread and a very light beige one that can make a pass for them if you're not too picky.
It comes with two projects (the flowers in the vases shown in the packet). I didn't use them as I found them very plain and boring, but they can be a good start for beginners.
Definitely a great purchase!

I can see why the flosses in this box are popular. The attractive colors just beg to be used. And, in aid of that, the box also includes a couple of nice flower charts to get you started. This would be a lovely gift for a friend who enjoys hand work, or for a young person who is interested in learning to stitch. And, remember, you can never have too much floss.

I have always used DMC for embroidery so I may have a biased opinion. I have had no issues with the thread as far as sewing through material, color fading, or bleeding, and overall I really love the quality of the thread. My Mom always used DMC, and I just followed her path; therefore, I am not sure if my review helps or not. Either way I wanted to post an opinion. Oh the colors are great, in my opinion, and I use a bobbin so I have no issues with the thread tangling.
