This is an expensive way to drill a hole, but it works great. It cuts fast and really is self feeding once it digs in. Plus it can be resharpened. If you have a lot of holes to drill use one of these paired with a high torque drill-much better than spade bits, which quickly wear out or hole saws, which can bottom out after a couple of inches. I like the Dewalt self-feed bits slightly more because they have two cutters and seem to work a little faster with less effort.

Arrived in manufactures package in good condition. These bits are great if you are drilling through 2x stock or thicker. This is about as big as a standard 1/2" drill can handle. I use a Milwaukee right angle drill on these most of the time.

Milwaukee delivers with this bit. Best selfeed bit I have used. I have to be careful with this one because It is very sharp.

my reason for giving this such a high rating is because this is a bit (tool) that makes my job easier & more efficient when hole cutting for conduit, wire & flexible tubing (duct)

Does what it says it will do. Hit one nail with it and it's toast and will need to be resharpened.

The Milwaukee selfeed bits are the best wood boring bits I've used. It feels like they just pull their way through the material. I considered buying a kit, but for 90% of my work, 1" is all I need and I could always bore two holes, side by side for larger feeds. Not quite 5 stars though as the Milwaukee bogs down when the center bit penetrates all the way through. This is pretty common and the Milwaukee is better than others I have tried.

I bought this to bore through a landscape timber in order to insert a drainage pipe. It was obviously the wrong tool for the job.
