no idea why the title of this doesn't include the 306 model = very misleading and I was initially concerned about ordering, but I found the same product at a pet store w/ the same box as this pic but included on that box were several other model numbers in addition to the ones pictured here = I took a chance and ordered it (also, it was cheaper here) and lo and behold - is the proper size for my 306. Hope this helps anyone on the fence due to the incomplete product description't title.

I bought a Fluval filter a few months back. The filter is working great but the water was lacking a clear look.
After reading about this product I gave them a try. Wow, what a difference these filters make.

Anyone that has a Fluval filter knows that the water goes thru the sponge filter and travels upward thru the bio media and carbon baskets and then enter's the tank. With the one extra basket you can add this media at the top before it enters the tank. After installing the media all I can say is wow. The filters were needing a replacement after only 1 week. The water is so much more clear. Great product. Plan on ordering more so that I always have some on hand when I service filter.

when I saw this, i doubted about the functionality.
as i cleaned my 306 for the first time, I witnessed the amount of 'stuff' that this pad was holding underneath the carbon bag.
i washed this pad and dirty water just kept coming out from it. ever since I switched to 306 the water in my tank has been crystal clear.
now I'm not sure how much of that is due to this pad, but i'm sure that this pad helps to filter out the small particles from the water that passes through the filter.
i'm stocking this up for my next filter cleanup.

They do work, and work fine, but for what ever reason they are nothing like the perfect fitting ones that come with your filter! They don't fit as nicely into the filter, and seem to be thicker, but less filled material. They still seem to work okay, just wish they were the same.

These filter options for the Fluval canister filter are fantastic. They hold up well, and you really only need to change them one at a time. My tank has never looked better!

One note - depending on your number of fish and size of your tank, you need to find a way to get some oxygen into your water. I did this by trimming the inbound supply so it disturbs the water a bit. Otherwise, you are missing the natural movement you get from the regular/waterfall filters.

Using this pad for the Fluval 306. looks twice as thick as the polishing pads that came with the 306. My water seems to be clear in my 27 gal square, but I am over stocked with fish so I have to clean more often.

I picked these up to put in a Fluval 406 canister filter. In combination with Seachem Purigen these polishing pads have kept my water clearer than I've ever seen it. I can look all the way through the length of my 48-inch tank and see the other side just as clearly as if it was a pane of glass. All the little "floaties" in the water are gone and everything looks so vibrant. And after a month of use they still look pretty clean. I'd expect that I could probably get 3 months or so out of these pads before they gunk up too bad.

These filter pads are great! I recommend that everyone who owns a fluval canister filter uses them, you really can tell the difference in water clarity. Whenever I clean the filter I always notice that a large majority of the small particles that make it through the coarse filter pads are caught by these before they hit the bio rings and other media. Add a new pad per side of the canister with each water change, these should last you 2-3 filter cleanings.
