Anyone with a large outdoor fish pond knows about fine green algae growth that clouds the water. PondCare Accu-Clear Water Claifier is the best product I have ever used. I found it to be less expensive from Amazon, even with any shipping cost. It dosn't work too well on 'green water' though. For green water you really need to use barley straw. Living in farm country, I buy barly straw by the bale and a bale will last about two years at about $ 4.00 per bale. The Accu-Clear takes about three treatments the first week or so and then only on occasion thereafter. You will recognize the fine green algae as it will clog filters and pumps. It even works well in ponds with all day sun light. Let me tell you, it is just great to be able to sit and watch your fish swim around in sparkling clear water. Other clifiers that rely on floculation just don't work. My pond is over twenty years old and when I discovered Accu-Clear, I have never had to fight fine algae growth again.
Just follow the directions on the container. One of those Miriacle Grow type spayers makes a great applicator. Hook it to a garden hose and treat your pond in just minutes.

I called Mars fish care and asked them why someone on Amazon has written a review that says this product does not work in all water conditions and that Mars doesn't disclose this. They answered that the product doesn't work right when there are "very high" phosphates or "very high" hardness conditions. They don't know the exact numbers where the product stops working, but you should avoid it in those conditions Be aware of that. Outside of those conditions (which the manufacturer doesn't reveal apparently unless you call and ask) it is a good product.

Completely NOT effective in Koi pond. It turned the water white, as if I had poured milk into the pond. To make it even more frustrating, I used API's customer service process to ask product questions and never heard back from them. Very disappointed and will not purchase Accu-Clear again.

We have a six-month old 4000 gallon garden pond with a few goldfish, minnows and sparse plantings. In May the water became cloudy. We want to manage the pond naturally, so we added barley straw,Eco Labs 10PLG4 Microbe Lift PL Bacteria for Watergardens 1/2 Gallon, and 8oz PondCare ACCU CLEAR. We hoped that the latter would make our filters more efficient. We were astounded when the water became crystal clear in a couple of days. Since the manufacturers of the bacteria and the barley straw expected a more delayed recovery, we believe that the ACCU CLEAR improved the efficiency of our filters and had a major responsibility for the quick clearing. We intend to keep using this product. (we have checked the chemical balance and everything is within the acceptable range, with a slight tendency to alkaline which is natural for the water in this part of the country). Our pond has remained clear for three months.

I have a ~1000 gallon Koi pond with filtration and UV light algae killer. This product in conjunction with the mechanicals and Pond-Zyme keeps my water very clear and the fish and frogs are doing well. I add the two of them and dechlorinator along with 100 gallons of new water once a week and everything stays very clear.

I use this twice a year when I get the algae blooms....It works after 2 applications if I wait too long......and it works after one pelican ion if I don't wait until the problem is severe......I also have this large size, and have kept the product in the shed, exposed to the harsh, cold winter temps...and it still works in the next year.....I will always keep using this product....I saved a lot of money buying it through Amazon...The local nurseries charge far more.

This stuff works great! My tank was very cloudy. I put some in and it was crystal clear within 24 hours. I could actually see a patch of clear water within the cloudy water as soon as I put it in. It seems to be about 10ml to every 20 gallons.
