I bought 2 of these and am generally happy with them. I chose the chrome variety because I expect the black finish will make the spreader collapse less smoothly, and I also don't want to worry about the black paint chipping and looking ugly. As others have mentioned, there are spring pins to hold the bar at the chosen length but these are easily pulled out and can't be used for harness anchor points. I stopped at Home Depot and bought 1 inch eye bolts (there is a little loop at one end and a threaded bolt at the other) and these I screw in as a substitute for the included spring pins, securing with a nut, and these loops can now be used for harnesses for wrists or whatever...

Speaking of harnesses, the anchor points included with the spreader screw into the ends of the bar. It would be better if these had some free rotating or swivel-type connection. The way this thing is built, The anchors will unscrew and fall out if there is enough movement, but I guess this might not be an issue for bondage applications.

The build material is good, about 1/16 thick stainless steel for the bar. It is strong enough so that a human will not damage the metal by struggling, but I can see how this thing might bend or snap if you tried to support weight on it, as in a suspension. For that I recommend buying a non-adjustable spreader, which is available in various lengths.

We love it, the only reason we gave a 4 star and not a 5 is because we were made to believe by the photo that there were rings in between the two outside ones for hand cuff attachment between the legs. Those are pull pins. I went to hardware store and bought pull pins with hair pin clips so I would be able to attach the cuffs to them without my girlfriend being able to pull the pins out. Other than that the construction of the bar is solid, nice finish, extends very wide and retracts to be very short for standing. We love It!! :)

Once this came, I saw it was just a spreader bar for one set of restraints. A quick trip to the hardware store to purchase a couple of eye bolts and it is now a great spreader bar for wrists and ankles

After one attempted use this is in the trash. My ex and I were very much into bdsm, and this ws not realistically functional at all! If you pull on the pins that the restarints are supposed to clip to the pins come out immediately. No way to lock it either. Just find a kinky welder

For 35bucks you'd think that this would come with SOMETHING more. but it is just a metal pipe with factory holes drilled and some rings. That is IT! For a few dollars more you can get stainless steal leg AND wrist spreaders complete with cuffs.
Worse of all, this product isn't returnable.
