Under load, the handle on this wrench started bending earlier than expected (at about 5-600 ft-lb). On the plus side, it was easy to tell when it started bending, so I didn't completely ruin it and can still use it, although it was not able to free up that gland nut. I had a different spanner wrench where the hook bent out (albeit at a higher torque), making that one useless. The hook on this wrench is very solid feeling - the metal is as thick or thicker there than the rest of the wrench. Also, as mentioned in the other reviews, this is just one wrench, but I knew that before buying. The handle is also slightly pear shaped - getting thicker at the free end - which just barely prevents it from sliding into a 1" cheater pipe.

Got exactly what I expect and it works like it should. Rugged construction and seems put together to last. The product picture shows 4 sizes, but you only get one size, which is reasonably clear from the description of the product. Should have a picture of just the one size that you are buying though.

Spectacular. I had to remove the top nut/cap nut ( 24040 ) on a 50's era Hein-Werner floor jack to put in new seals. It would not budge with a huge pipe wrench and a cheater bar - it was just chewing up the (very hard to replace) top nut. I clamped the hydraulic unit to my workbench, put this Williams 474 adjustable hook spanner wrench to the nut, along with a 2.5 foot pipe cheater bar, and had it off in 30 seconds.

Incredible. I thought for sure I was in trouble with this nut. The torque specs for the nut are insane - hundreds of pounds of torque were put on it when it was put into place - about 60 years ago. It just goes to show the right tool makes every job easy.

Construction of the wrench is impeccable, no slop. It comes in a non-slip, functional steampunk black oxide finish. From where I am sitting, with the nut off, it is absolutely beautiful. :-)

No problems with the tool whatsoever. Nice sharp 'tooth' for grabbing into notches on the spanner nuts. Also, the product 'feels' nice (yeah, it's a hunk of metal, but, you know - nice finish, etc.). ...and - made in the USA.

Good tool arrived on time. I had to grind the end down to allow the wrench to fit into the slot. Very dirty on arrival. I had to wash it with a lot of soap and water. It had no cleaning from the manufacturing process.

Read these offers closely. There are several with pictures or an entire set of Spanner Wrenches. However, you only get ONE wrench.

The tool quality is good, but the price is steep for a single wrench when they show you four to six wrenches in the pictures. Don't be fooled by the 2 to 4.75 inches spec, that's for this one wrench.
