I own 2 pair of these ear protectors. I have worn them at the range for 1 1/2 hours at a time. I have an average sized head and they fit well. They cancel out the sound of gunfire up to .45 caliber (the loudest I've tested so far). These are passive ear protection.

Pros: Inexpensive, comfortable, quiet, batteries not required, low profile.

Cons: These don't fold up like some others. They can make your ears warm after a bit of use (they are ear muffs after all!).

I will buy these again if I need another set of ear protection.

For anyone who is curious, Howard Leight is by Sperian. I did not know that until I got these. Anyhow, I bought 2 sets of these. They fit real snug around the ears and the headband is comfortable. I really like these and for the price, you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend these. Thanks Amazon for the superfast service and excellent pricing!!

Don't know what Seriyu's problem was, but I'd buy these again in a heartbeat. They perform well, they're comfortable, and they're at the top of the pile in my range bag, right next to my 5.11 gloves.

I won't shoot the 300 Win Mag with them, (Remington M-31's for that) but I use them for just about everything else. They're lightweight, compact, low-profile, and they work pretty well over a ballcap or a boonie. What's not to like?

Highly recommended.

When my wife tried my pair of foldable L0 she thought it was still a little too loud for her as she's a bit more sensitive to the loud sounds of the shooting range. I picked up L1 and she said it was perfect. Not too bulky and does a good job of muffling those loud noises!

I bought 2 of these and they really do reduce the noise. I then decided to see if I could reduce the noise even further so I put ear plugs in my ears and then placed these over my ears. Wow! They are fantastic!

A gift, I liked mine well enough that I convinced my daughter that she needed her own pair for shooting. Maybe I'll have more company at the range now. At full extension on adjustment they fit pretty close, try a pair if possible, before buying.

These would be great if you are a woman or child, but I am an adult male with average sized head and the muffs are too small to be comfortable. They do fit, but just barely and are not comfortable when wearing for any length of time. The headband fits tight on the top of the head even with the ear cups pulled down to their lowest possible adjustment. They are good quality otherwise.
