They serve their purpose. They assist in the right environment of harsh lighting, photo-sensitivity, cluster-headaches, migraines, and other "white noise" you will not understand till you don't see anymore. For some reason people on the internet thing this product is a joke. Well coming from someone with complete constant migraines, extreme pain, & partial paralysis I do not. The truth is, the product is what the user does with it. If you choose to stick it on the top of your head and claim it doesn't work, don't bother writing a review about your idiocy.

The product successfully removes extreme white balances exhibited by white high color temperature fluorescent lights that cause extreme eye strain and in my case migraines. In simple terms, T8 fluorescent lights in office buildings are cheaper, per bulb, the "higher" the color temperature is and appear "brighter" just like HID lights on a car. Appearing brighter and being brighter are not the same thing. For example Blue HID lights at 9,000 color temperature are blue or violet and are not optimal for night vision. HID lights at 4,500 color temperature are optimal for long distance viewing. The same Applies with fluorescent lights in buildings. Lights that are higher color temperature are meant for 25 to 50 foot ceilings, not 15 foot ceilings. For someone with photosensitive eyes, this is a huge problem. Your eyes adjust, but at the cost of clarity and eye strain as well as mental fatigue.

Computer screens also have an issue of white balance and extreme contract variations. Ever notice most webpages have lots of white in them? The OSHA guidelines for computer user are having to be expanded because of this, and how it effects the eyes. The worse the webpage, the longer break your brain needs.

These glasses live up to the hype. As an IT tech who spends his days staring at LCD screens I can, and will, vouch that the technology these glasses feature greatly reduce eye fatigue and headaches related to long computer sessions. They even manage to make text stand out on the page a little more, so it is easier to read. I highly suggest buying a pair if you are in a similar situation to me due to work or hobby. As a side note, my brother uses a pair of these on the race track, where he claims they provide improved vision and a competitive advantage. At nearly 200 MPH I would take and advantage I could get, but I should also point out that his use of the glasses isn't supported by any manufacturer claims, just his own.

I was somewhat skeptical when I read a web review of the Gunnar Optic glasses that raved about how well they relieved eye strain. I decided to give them a try since anything was better than nothing when staring at two 24" monitors all day.
The first few days with the glasses took some getting used to. They have a mild yellow tint to them that enhances the color of a monitor, but makes everything else look a little strange. After using the glasses for the last month I can say that they really do what they claim. At the end of the day I no longer have a headache and even my back doesn't bother me as much. They are very comfortable and are stylish enough for office wear.
I would definitely recommend them to my friends

I purchased this frame and the Gunnar G0005-C001. While the G0005-C001 is super light weight and comfortable this model (ST003) is much heavier. With that said, the ST003 has a lot less curve and fit my big nose with medium sized face much more appropriately.
Although Gunnars promotes the high curve of their frames, 4 of my employees, who are licensed opticians, would recommend against it. 8 Base curve, which is what the G0005 is, can distort vision and actually contribute to headaches. Since the whole point of the glasses is to eliminate those I am surprised Gunnars would take this risk.
Regardless, these frames are moderately heavy, not to bad. I am very sensitive to weight. Any sort of pressure on my nose makes my eyes water. I seem to get by just fine with these frames. SO, positives and negatives:
1. Negative - Moderate weight (compared to other lighter options)
2. Positive - 4 - 6 base curve (moderate compared to other high curved framed)
3. Positive - Medium Size frame with easy to adjust nose pads
In the end, the frame is just fine and I was happy to pay the money.
Although I will add once more. YOU MUST BEGIN SHIPPING THESE WITH A BRANDED HARD CASE. I have nowhere to store them and refuse to pay additional when it absolutely should be included since you are making a ton of money on these. Your lenses are less than 10 cents and the frame is probably 7 - 12 dollars.
Purchase over 5,000 branded hard cases from China, direct, and the cost is less than $1.00 (i do it with my company)
NO EXCUSES Gunnars.

I have only had these glasses a couple of days and I love them so far. I do a lot of CAD design and found that my eyes bothered me a lot. After finally undergoing Lasik they started to bother me more since I no longer had glasses with Anti-reflective coating. You can tell a huge difference using your smartphone and underneath Florescent Lighting. It is unfortunate that these don't fit quite right for me to use doing archery, it would help with the crappy lighting in some of the arenas. I was also told that I had large pupils and may have difficulty nighttime driving after my surgery. The starbursts did get a bit worse at night and this explains why I did not like nighttime driving in contacts before. It is amazing what a little coating does to help your vision. I did not want to fork over the money for actual readers with the coatings, so these were a great substitute. I no longer feel like I need to squint when I drive around at night. I may just be buying a pair to keep in my car and looking into a different fit for shooting as well.
