We call these "goof plates". Really oversized and will cover a multitude of errors. Mine is mounted on marble subway tiles/kitchen backsplash. Tile was overcut for the outlet. This large outlet cover really does the trick - hides the problem. Not so huge that it looks ridiculous, though. A real decorating lifesaver.

Received this yesterday, and installed it last night. The size is perfect. Not so huge as to look silly, but covers up a multitude of bad drywall sins.... well, not the drywall itself, but the way it was cut around the electrical outlets. Before putting this on my wall, I had tape all around the electrical cover just to keep out "wall critters." Looked terrible. Now my master bathroom looks great (and finished).

Going to order more of these, as soon as I know how many more I need, and which type.

This oversized wall plate did a great job in hiding an irregularly cut outlet (top-side defect). It is a simple white appearance and comes with standard interchangeable screws. The switch also fit the hole perfectly.

I was concerned about the quality of the plastic based upon some reviews but did not find the product lacking. A quick note about installation - I found the screws included in this and typical wall plates are short - if you press hard on the plastic it may break. I found that I could get the screws to "catch" by putting minimal pressure and increasing until the catch. In other words, don't over due the pressure at the start. You may have to turn the screw a few extra times, but the plate won't break this way.

What will they think of next? I like that this keeps my fingers from getting stuck behind the light switch and shocking me. Also, it's really hard to dust those exposed electrical boxes. I had my wife do it with a damp rag. While I miss watching her dance, the cover plate is a nice solution.

These oversized plates are really great for replacing cracked ones and hiding extra large holes in the drywall. As mentioned in another review however, these are available for much cheaper at home depot (online even) and probably at your neighborhood hardware store. At the home depot website, these are called "jumbo" rather than "oversized" if you have trouble searching it.
