Story time! I could never use tampons (I tried the Tampax brand) because it would start to burn and hurt as soon as it was inserted so despite other ladies giving me grief for my barbaric ways, I stuck with pads (Always brand). For years, everything was fine. Then one day my period started, I stuck a pad on my underoos like usual, and my lady bits started burning like I had just thrown gasoline and a lit match at them. It was so bad I couldn't sit like a normal person and was nearly in tears. After my period was over and I stopped needing pads, I was fine and pain-free. After a few months of dealing with this delightful burning sensation for a week each month and realizing it wasn't going to magically go away, I finally hit up the interwebs and found out that yes, you can be allergic to the chemicals and materials in maxi pads. Surprise, surprise.

Natracare was recommended on several websites so I bought a box at the local organic food store only rich yuppies can afford to shop at - I was that desperate. It's not a miracle cure but I no longer have that terrible burning pain. My girly bits still get a bit irritated but that's usually towards the end of the period when it's drying up. It's weird that some folks can use the normal brands without a problem and others say they've gotten chemical burns. Maybe that's what was happening to me. But I'm happy I've found something I can use to get me through the week and I have no intention of shopping around to find something cheaper (I'm not turning myself into a guinea pig - seriously, it hurt THAT much). I also like that they're more biodegradable than the normal ones. I've just ordered my 2nd case of them.

My wife purchased the pads and within a week began having vaginal irritations, which turned into infections. This company may clain to not use bleach or chlorine but they do use a layer of cornstarch, which normal vaginal yeast will multiply, causing problems...Stop using it if you are having unexplained infections......I'm not complaining about the seller but the company making these products.

Before I get to the review of these organic, natural sanitary pads, I would like to say something. I find it very disconcerting that our government does not mandate companies to reveal the ingredients in sanitary pads/tampons because they are technically "medical devices." Upon further research, I found that many brands such as Always and Kotex use harmful ingredients in their products that have known carcinogenic effects, which basically is saying that the sanitary products we have used for years have ingredients in them that causes a mutation of our genes which can lead to cancer. There have been cases of cervical cancer among other health related issues in relation to these products that were unnatural and caused irritation of the skin. I think it's about time that these companies disclose their full list of ingredients to the public and let the public decide for themselves if they still want to continue purchasing those brands. No wonder the products from these brands cost less than the organic products.

Okay, enough of my rant. I personally bought these because I wanted to be more health-conscious and not come into any harmful irritation that I've had with products in the past like Always. They are lightweight and very breathable, however my two objections are that the price is way too high and also that sometimes they don't stay in place. Other than that, they are great and don't cause any irritation or any negative side effects. Let's start getting all these organic sanitary pads and tampons to the forefront of the market so that we can weed out all the other culprits.

Good product but room for a few improvements. My biggest issue with these is the adhesive. It does not extend to the ends of the pad to keep it right side up. The first half inch can fold over without the adhesive to keep it in place, which is annoying. The wings do not have any issue with adhesive, but a couple of them have been caught in the pad wrapping (as these are all individually wrapped).
None of these issues are big enough for me to stop using the product. The far supersede the issues I had with bleached and main brand feminine products. If you have had any issues of regular yeast infections after your menstrual cycle, I highly recommend these pads to resolve your issue.

These pads have been a lifesaver. I have had to wear incontenince pads at night and they are made with chemicals. They do the job(and unfortunately i have not found another pad that works as well for this problem) but i am allergic to the chemicals and was stymied as to what i was going to do. I thought "Hmmm, if there were something chemically free to put on the pad so i wouln't react to the chemicals of the other, it might work". So i looked online and saw these pads have no chemicals. i just place one/two on top of the iffy but effective chemical pad and NO REACTION!!! I realize these natural pads intent may not be as a barrier to another pad, but it totally works. If you are sensitive to chemicals, these are great. I have since ordered the ones without wings as the wings were unnecessary. i am way past having a period but these would surely be good i would think for chemically challenged women.
