I've been buying Herbal Essences mousse for a while now. Compared to other similarly priced widely available brands, it does a better job on my naturally wavy/curly hair. This one is a little lighter in comparison to other Herbal Essences mousses but still gives good curl definition and a pretty sheen. I apply when wet and generally let it air dry or use a diffuser briefly. Then I usually pick through it lightly when it's almost completely dry to keep it from getting "crispy." My hair doesn't get frizzy or fuzzy with this mousse. It smells nice.

The downside is the tendency for a wetter look even when hair is dry. This mousse also can result in some flakiness/powderiness that resembles dandruff if too much is used. I've also noticed that a bottle doesn't last terribly long, but the price is such that this isn't a huge downfall.

I ordered a whole case of "set me up" level 3 hold, thinking they were only replacing the packaging with an updated design - but that is not true.

This new batch of "set me up" level 3, has the same ingredients as "tousle me softly" level 2 (purple bottle). A huge disappointment, since I've been brand loyal for the last... 16 years! I won't be purchasing herbal essences again.

I absolutely LOVE this product!! I have 3b/3c curly hair and I have tried a million products (So it seems). And I always come back to this one. The price is reasonable, and it holds my hair perfectly. I can put a lot in and never touch it and I get more of a crunchy curl look. Or I can put in less of the product and either diffuse and dry or touch the curls after drying and they will become softer in texture. I would recommend giving this a try to anyone with curly hair! I shouldn't even try other products... they just waste my money and leave me all frizzy!
