I love a good sad song and I love a band that's not afraid to sing about their personal lives. Veruca Salt was that band for me, Staind was that band for me. And then I discovered Beth just a few days ago. Like most people, I started with the LA Song. Saw the many live versions on Youtube and was just overwhelmed. I can't recall the last time I saw a live performance (even if it is on youtube) that was so moving and powerful. Beth always pushes her limits, she'll rip her vocal cords, her veins will pop and she'll lose herself in her music. It's one thing to see a great musician and singer perform, it's totally another level to see someone express themselves outwardly in such a complete and pure way. Beth has been compared to Janis Joplin due to their capacity for self destruction, their overpowering emotional voice and the way their emotions are blown out on stage to the point of collapse. I love it, I love her for it. Even though I've never met her or know her at all. Just listening to her music makes you well up inside in a way that only something this pure and emotional can induce. Music like this can only be created after a long journey, one that she is clearly still on. I really wish Beth Hart the best and would like to thank her for sharing so much of herself with us in her music. Don't just buy this album, buy all of them and the especially the Live at Paradiso DVD.

Beth sounds better than ever and can belt it out like no one else can! The songs and the production are very strong and European fans have responded strongly to 37 Days. The album reached #1 in Denmark the first week released and entered the top 20 in the Netherlands and Norway not long after release. This album was recorded live at Center Staging in Burbank CA with high-def cameras recording video as well. Beth and band worked with Danish producer Rune Westberg to capture the raw live sound and produced the album like a live album. The album was recorded and mixed in only 37 Days. The album starts with one of the happiest songs ever written "Good as it Gets" and ends with "At the Bottom" one of the most heartbreaking songs Beth has ever written. She shows all sides of her personality and emotions within this cd and her sense of humor adds a great touch. There are hard driving rock songs Sick, Face Forward and Waterfalls. There are beautiful piano songs Jealousy, Over You and the amazing cover Soul Shine. It includes a classic that she has been performing live for years Crashing Down and so much more. Beth's versatility shows and both her power and her elegance are showcased. Her vocals are incredible and her band did an amazing job. This album truly shows Beth again topping her previous work and continuing to grow as an artist. Now that she has almost 5 years clean and sober the themes on this album turn more outward to the world as well as exploring her inner emotions. The political statements in Sick and Face Forward, the song inspired by the children of war Missing You, and Heaven Look Down that expresses Beth's sorrow at the state of the world. Beth is truly an astonishing artist and songwriter. I highly recommend 37 Days!

Wow! The new Beth Hart cd, 37 Days, has been worth the wait! I'm simply amazed by the strength of her vocals, the song selection, the lyrics, and her presence! She is a true artist.

If you are hesitating to buy this import now, do yourself a favor and don't. You won't regret it if you are want to enjoy the brilliance of a real artist.

She makes any song her own. Once she sings it, it's branded with the Beth Hart brilliance that only she can give.

I am a relatively new fan of Beth. I had simply not heard of her until a few months ago when I was trying to find Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love on Youtube and came across Beth's cover of it. I was blown away with each new song and was won over again and again. Beth is a singer songwriter with a great depth of passion and a whole lot to write about. The music itself is great from the hard rocking songs to the bluesy guitar and the poignant piano playing. Her voice is amazing. Angelic and vulnerable with an edge of roughness to outright screaming anger. Every note full of passion like her life depended on it. You really get the feeling that she is goinog through therapy writing and performing these songs. Affirming the pains and joys of her life. Acknowledging the wrongs and embracing the positive changes. The songs make me feel like I know her, they make me want to hug her and tell her that I'm proud of her and that she is strong enough to overcome her problems. My favorite song changes from week to week or day to day as I pick up on nuances in each track. I can't seem to keep the volume at a reasonable level when listening. My wife started questioning my fascination with this artist when every day I was playing her music. I just hope to see her perform live one day. Maybe she'll come to New Orleans one day but her biggest following is in Europe. I also recommend Live at Paradiso. Beth is meant to be heard live.

If you could own just one Beth Hart album, this would be it. Every song is a portrait of Beth's odyssey of self-destruction, self-reflection, and self-discovery. Beth's journey in life has been an extraordinary mix of tragedy and triumph, and she tells her story with rare vulnerability. She leaves it all on the floor. Lyrically, she's a master who writes what she knows, but in a way that is at once palatable to a wide audience, and yet is most powerful to those among her niche following. Alas I have discovered her too late in life. To think I could have been enriched by her music for many years if only the US music industry with its fatal flaw of trying to pigeon hole artists didn't drive her away to Europe for over a decade. Her kind of vocal instincts is rare. Beautiful, breathtaking vocals. She makes you want to sing. For those who appreciate the craft/art of song writing, she knows how to build a melody. With each aspect of her talent, she amazes and delights the soul. Her cover of "Soulshine" by Warren Haynes is the best interpretation of that song. Period. 37 Days is well worth the extra import cost. Copy it and send this to friends. Spread the word. Beth Hart is a once-in-a-generation talent. Like Janis Joplin, only better. Really.
