Age old design, works well

This particular doorstop design has been around longer than I have, and that's quite a while. So it is tried and true. It is brass plated. The main casting appears (from ones I'm managed to break) to be zinc. The threaded screw is magnetic, so steel. The basic design means there is a maximum the door can open, a bit over 90 degrees, so if you're looking for a stopper that'll allow, say, 135 degree opening, you'll have to find another solution. In addition, since this stopper requires one to be able to remove the hinge pin, it won't work on some entry door hinges. The white tips are a squishy, rubberized vinyl or similar synthetic. They don't last forever but do last decades, in my experience. And since they're inexpensive, replacement is an option if the plate gets grubby looking or the tips get brittle and crack. Beats fixing dents in wallboard or other damage.

Nice Door Stop, Max Door Swing ~ 70% of Normal

This is a great little product if you've got a door that needs to be restricted, and works great. I docked one star because of two reasons. Firstly, the material feels like it's made of plastic. I didn't really test to see if it was metal or not, but it didn't feel like it and just makes me think it might not be as sturdy as I would like. Secondly, It didn't really screw in far enough to make the gap between the door and the desk I'm trying to keep it from hitting very small. I have the screw in all the way and it still manages to leave about a 5 inch gap between the desk and the door, it'd be nice to be able to close it even further to have the door open further, but still not all the way. This feature may be available on other hinge pin door stops, but this one doesn't close quite that far. I'd have to say it lets the door open about 65-75% of it's full swing. Otherwise, it looks alright, the seam from assembly or whatnot is visible and noticeable. The white rubber ends on either side and nice and squishy and do a great job of keeping the door stop from damaging the door or the trim/wall.

These look much nicer than the ones that stick out from your baseboard but you have to set them just right. I am also having an issue with the cap on the adjustable screw that keeps falling off, I may have to try and glue it somehow.

A decent plastic door stop

These stops are made of plastic with a metallic finish. I was surprised at how light they are; my previous door stops with a similar look and style were made of metal. At this price - and in consideration that they haven't broken in the three months they've been in use - I can't complain too much though.

so I have to set it wider than I would like. I would prefer if the stop pads were ...

The rubber stops are a little too squishy, which means when the door hits the stop, it springs in about 5 more inches (particularly if a child is swinging the door open quickly), so I have to set it wider than I would like. I would prefer if the stop pads were a harder material, so I could open the door further without the risk of it banging into the wall when opened quickly.
