Amazon.com Product Description

What's the difference between winning and losing? Wilson boils it down to one word: [k]ontrol. The Wilson [K] Zen Team tennis racquet is made using [k]arophite black technology, a proprietary next-generation structure that results in better feel and a stronger, more stable performance. As a result, it's easier than ever for players to shape their shots and hit the corners with accuracy. And control is a crucial tool, as players who had the fewest unforced errors have won a combined 74 percent of the most recent Grand Slam tournaments. As a whole, the [K] Zen Team provides a sense of touch that's almost organic in feel, making it ideal for the player who's always in the moment.

The [K] Zen Team also boasts Wilson's Double Hole technology, which offers larger-diameter grommet holes that create more flex within the stringbed upon impact, resulting in a smoother feel and added power. And in comparison to its [K] Zen sister racquet, the [K] Zen Team offers extra spin and maneuverability in a lighter overall frame.

Specifications:

  • Head size: 103 square inches
  • Length: 27.25 inches
  • Weight: 10.1 ounces (strung)
  • String pattern: 16 x 19
  • Balance: 0 points, HL

Product Description

For 2009, Wilson prints "K ZEN" only on the frame.
The specification is for the K ZEN TEAM, despite the typo on the frame text.

The Wilson K Zen Team is an all-new racquet that delivers an extremely versatile combination of power, maneuverability, and comfort in a lighter (10.3 oz. strung) weight than the K Zen (11.1 oz. strung). Designed for a wide variety of players, the K Zen Team offers the control of a mid plus 103 sq. in. head size, with the added pop of a 27.25 in. length and a stiffer 26mm beam. A solid choice for a player looking for control, feel, with some added pop.

What is [K] Factor?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great racquet, April 20, 2009
This is a review form an intermediate player than went from an oversize to a medium size racquet. I used this racquet yesterday and it was an easy transition from my previous one. It is incredibly balanced and you get to have more control and feel, as stated by the manufacturer. I highly recommend it. Great value and cool-looking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for gal or guy!, September 12, 2009
    Love this racquet!

I play 4.0 USTA Ladies 1st singles AND doubles with a better than 500 record. I won 4.5 Ultimate Tennis in my area (thanks to a strong opponent's sister having her wedding on the weekend of finals ;-)
I use touch, drop, lob, spin and have recently added topspin driving strokes on forehand AND backhand as well as topspin lobs (old lobs were ALL backspin)! THIS RACQUET DOES IT ALL! Light head allows you to quickly adjust at the last minute to ball changes due to funny bounce, spin, wind, etc. This is a MUST for my kind of game.
Folks who swing for the fences on every shot might prefer more weight in the head.

    Warning:
It looks just like the K Zen (no "team" in the name), which is a tad heavier in the head. I prefer the K ZEN TEAM. I accidentally bought a "no team" off a rack at a store & my first purchase was the 4&3/8 (size I've ALWAYS used) which felt too big. So... I now use 4&1/4, my hubby (good USTA 4.0, has kick serves, etc.) uses the 4&3/8 with a wrap, and my daughter uses the "no team". My 2.5/3.0 pal tried mine & LOVED IT! -- so I think it's good for all abilities.

    Alert:
Wilson is phasing them out. Academy sells larger grip sizes in stores. I could no longer order one through Golfsmith, & I panicked -- I had to stock up before they became extinct! Thank you Amazon! I ordered three more & hubby is about to get several in his grip size. Now I'm set for the next few years :-)

PS: Golfsmith sold them unstrung; my Amazon order arrived STRUNG! COOL!

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks good, July 22, 2009
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It does look good, not like a cheap racquet. but I have some wrist pain when I play using this racquet. I feel it`s weight is kind of wrong. would be more sure after trying another racquet.
