We've used Starbucks French Roast coffee beans for years, and it's our favorite. Normally I get the whole beans and grind them in the blender a pound at a time, but this product came already ground. It's fresh and aromatic, and tastes wonderful, never bitter. The metallic bags are vacuum sealed to keep the product fresh until opened. The free shipping through Amazon made this a wonderful deal!

most of this "sale" is for 12 ounce bags instead of the normal 16 ounce bag. Don't know where they are getting the price for the 12 ounces of coffeee, but at my local Starbucks it's what we pay for a whole pound (16 ounces) of coffee

If picking a gourmet coffee, here is a framework. East Asian and African coffees are huge and bold and spicy. South American coffees are more smooth and balanced. Europe lands right in the middle

French Roast proves this. This is an extremely smooth coffee, perhaps the silkiest of the bagged Starbucks. It does not have nearly the spice of Sumatra or Ethiopia.

But it does have the body. This is once rich brew, and can stand up to meats and sweet pastry. You won't be knocked a step back, but you will feel the presence with no doubt.

I like, no I LOVE, starbucks coffee, and I buy it often from Amazon. Unfortunately, I have received coffee from Amazon well past its "best by" date. The one time I received it 2 months past "best by" date. The next time, I received coffee SIX MONTHS past its "best by" date.

Given this price point, definitely check the expiration before storing your coffee. It's bad enough to get a product with only a month or two before the expiration. It's unacceptable to get it past the expiration.

What I love about this coffee is the strength. I always need a kick-start in the morning & this fills the bill. While it is very dark it is also very smooth. There is never a "burned" taste to this coffee. Having tried many brands this is the one I keep going back to.

This is an update from the initial review. The 'product' continues to rate five stars for 'quality.' The value for price; however, has changed. The price @ just over $23 for the three 12 oz packages was reasonable and brought the bottom line price per pound to just over $10.50! The current price of $32.99 is nearing the obscene zone, bringing the per pound price to nearly $15! Left to me, at that price, Starbucks, or whomever is selling it at that price, will have to use it for fertilizer....I would direct you to the merchant we currently purchase this product from; however, if too many go there, they might experience the same desire for more profit?

A favorite coffee that we have been drinking for years. A full bodied coffee without bitterness. Would prefer packaging in 16 ounce size.
