Blade is slightly crooked(not dysfunctional) and the crossguard came loose immediately after opening it, but the blade is set firmly into the handle(rat tail i assume) and i feels solid. Bone was a little chipped as well. The blade is very thick compared to most budget double edged knives and the overall weight and balance is excellent. Feels great in hand, points well, is easy to maneuver. The loose crossguard is not an issue, it has maybe 1mm of play and when handled I dont notice it. A great buy, I would suggest the wooden handled version of the same knife because it is a few dollars cheaper.

I was pleased with this dagger when it arrived. It was not sharp out of the box but it feels solid and the brass and bone really add to the beauty of this knife. It did sharpen up nicely to a razor sharp edge. The only area where I felt the quality could have been a little better was the centerline of the blade, which was nor perfectly straight, but acceptable for a $13.44 knife. (As of this writing it has gone up to $16.77) Other reviewers said that the sheath was crappy, but I think it is just fine. It is made of leather and plenty adequate for this knife. So, in my opinion, for the price it is a good value, I am happy with it and would definitely recommend the purchase of this blade.

I am pleased with this dagger. It is sold and the brass and bone really add to the ambiance of a replica knife. I am not an expert on Renaissance daggers, but it looks and feels good to me. It isn't terribly sharp out of the box edge-on, but keep in mind that daggers were for stabbing and with a little sharpening I think the edge would improve. Bottom line is that for the price it is a good value, in my opinion and I am happy with it. The only area where I felt the quality could have been better was in the scabbard, which is leather and somewhat crudely made. I am not sure it represents Renaissance authenticity. So, for the money, I would definitely recommend the purchase of this blade.

This knife is really well made for the price. I can't comment on the steel quality and how well it takes an edge, because I just have the knife as part of a collection. Some decorator only knives look pretty fake when viewed up close, but this one is really good for the money. Fit and finish are not perfect but are amazingly good.

I really have to admit that this was a great buy. I'm really happy with it. It's very smooth on the handle part. The dagger blade is sharp and it's really wonderful. The sheath is beautiful too. My only issue and WHY I am giving this a four star is because the sheath does not button. It's too small to actually hold the dagger fully like it's supposed to. That or the latch is just too small. Other then that it's a very beautiful collection piece.

The dagger is beautiful and the sheath is lovely. It fits perfect. My only complaint is that a bit of the handle was taken out (a small sliver down the center of one side). However, this was actually helpful for me since it happened to line up perfectly with an engraving I had to put there.
