This variety pack contains silver plated crimp beads in 4 sizes:

250 beads of Size 0: 0.8mm (0.031")
150 beads of Size 1: 1.3mm (0.051")
125 beads of Size 2: 1.5mm (0.059")
75 beads of Size 3: 1.8mm (0.071")

There is a total of 600 beads, each size comes in a container labeled with size. The containers are very handy for storage and organizing my beads. The price is excellent compared with craft stores like Michaels or Jo Ann, where you pay $2.99 for just a few beads.

Crimp beads are used to hold jewelry in place when working with beads. Most commonly they used at the end of the string to hold a clasp. Crimp beads come in variety of shapes most common being round like the beads in this set or tubes. If you are a beginner I find tubes easier to work this as they easier to manipulate with the beading tools. However, I think round crimp beads give a slightly more polished look to the jewelry.

I ordered the Beadalon Crimp Bead Variety Pack because I needed some silver crimp beads and Amazon had a very good price for the 600 piece package. I was very disappointed when the package arrived and I tried them. One size crimp bead is so thick that it would not crimp and I tried three different sizes of crimp pliers. Several months ago I purchased a pair of the new Beadbuddy Crimp pliers which came with a tube of silver plated crimp beads and they were packaged very much like these so I took a chance. Sorry Amazon and Beadalon but I won't purchase these again.

I was so disappointed when I receivedmthem, nowere it was written that the size is the external size, not the size of the hole, like in other crimp stuff, e.g. The fishing sleeves, where the size indicates the hole diameter. Hope might help somebody else...

These crimp beads are my favorite because: (1) the bead shape grips the flex wire when crimped, which reduces the chance of slippage, (2) the bead crimps are less likely than tubes to tear when crimping, (3) like the vial packaging instead of loose crimps in a flimsy plastic bag, (4) like having the variety of sizes. The only downside is that amazon doesn't carry an all gold or all copper color pack. Other than that, this is a great product.
