I had a XCELITE phillips screwdriver for years and it never showed any wear in the tip. Unfortunatly, I lost it, so I ordered the three piece set. I expect many more years of use from the set. A quality product. Fast delivery.

I've used Xcelite screw drivers for years and they always last a long time. They don't wear at the tips like other brands do. My only complaint? The plastic Xcelite uses for their tools smells funny. Aside from that, these are quality screwdrivers that will last a long time.

I was surprised and disappointed when these arrived. I used Xcelite phillips drivers in the IT field in the 1980s and 1990s and they were good. I was happy to order some made-in-USA screwdrivers. These looked like they were made by somebody else. Some of what I'm writing, I've read a couple of other reviewers say for other Xcelite screwdrivers. I not only purchased this set, but a couple of other, longer ones.

The shafts are not straight in the handles. The screwdriver looks bent. Almost every one of them. The plastic seems cheaper, too. There were ridges of mold flashing on each side of the handles, the entire length of the handle. These ridges were like thin knife edges that were sharp enough to cut your hand. I removed them with some fine sandpaper. I don't think I've ever seen a screwdriver with such pronounced mold flashing like this. The rounded end of the screwdriver handle also had the mold lines that would have worn the skin off of your palm in no time. I had to sand the ends, too.

There were also two or three cuts on the end of each handle, on the end where the shaft is inserted. I'm not sure why they are there, but it looks like someone used a utility knife and cut "V"s from the shaft to outer edge of the handles. This doesn't affect the use, but at first I thought the handles were cracked.

And - the stampings on the handles look like something that would be on a cheap Chinese counterfeit product. The logo is applied unevenly and is smudged. Some of the letters are missing the paint. On at least one of them, the logo was double-struck and crooked. The other side of some of the handles have a "false strike" of the logo/writing. In other words, it is a faint stamp of the logo, but with no paint.Read more ›
