Ultraviolet radiation from UVA and UVB rays causes irreversible damage to the skin within minutes. UVB rays are energy-intensive and are the main cause of sunburns. The damaging effects of UVA rays are less visible. UVA rays can pass through glass and penetrate the skins deeper layers where they cause irreversible damage to the skins cells. Mexoryl, available as SX (water soluble) and XL (lipid soluble), is very effective for two reasons: one, it is very stable [as a benzylidene camphor derivative], and two, because it undergoes photoisomerization, followed by photoexcitation, which means that it causes for UV light to be released as thermal energy rather than allowing for UV light to be absorbed into the skin and cause damage.

I really like this product line. Anthelios comes very highly recommended and since I am doing some bleaching for sun spots I want the most protection I can get. The only negative I can say is that since its very concentrated, your face will be "whiter" after applying this product. The cream itself is not joking that it is fluid, its very fluid. You have to be careful because you can pour out a lot very easily. It goes on very well on the face, just that it leaves that white residue (not so good when the rest of you is brown) is my only drawback. It does not feel heavy and goes on great.

After visiting my dermatologist, and discovering, to my surprise, that I had a Basel Cell
on my face, that was successfully treated, my doctor told me that the days of being in the sun
without any sunblock, were over. He made me aware of the enormous amount of people that are prone to,
and that will get some form of skin cancer in their lifetime, and how that rate is escalating
exponentially. My doctors recommended La Roche-Posay 50+ Anthelios XL, as THE product
to use for full protection of the sun's harmful rays. Now, I buy the product 5 at a time,
and will not go outside without using it. I was horrified to see the crowds of people,
of all ages, with some form of skin cancer due to exposure to sun.
The truth is, is that this product could actually save your life. No kidding.
Also, it is very light, rubs in well and evenly, and lasts a long time.
You pay for quality product, and that is what you are doing here.

Nothing on the market in the US like this product. In the sailing business racing worldwide nothing nothing can complete.
