This guitar is incredible. I bought it for someone else, but after playing it, WOW! Amazing, super clean sound, beautifully made, the headstock inlay really makes this guitar pop! The sound is clean and loud, great for a strictly acoustic guitar. I'm thinking about adding one to my collection, if I can find the room.

This guitar isn't just good for the money, it's a great instrument period. Based on a well known 000 style guitar it features a beautiful adirondack spruce top and mahogany sides. This provides a beautiful full tone that is warm but clear. It doesn't have the volume of a dreadnought, but has a balanced tone and is plenty loud. The neck is quite comfy, and the fret work is impeccable. The guitar arrived to me in flawless perfect playing condition, and even with D'Addario strings! I had been in the market for a $2-3k guitar and got this on a whim, and am so glad I did. I'm not saying all blueridge guitars are better than their Martin counterparts, but mine is a terrific instrument.

This guitar is easy to play and has a quiet fullness that's really nice when you don't want the guitar to step on the vocals. The price is coming down to more like where it belongs. The tuning keys are definitely a step above the ordinary - smooth and solid. One negative which maybe they've fixed (mine's five years old): It came with one undersized wooden shoulder-strap button, like a large string button, that fell out when the glue dried, and the hole is too large to replace it with a regular metal button. I keep meaning to re-glue the wooden button but just keep pushing it back in. What draws me most to this guitar is its soft, balanced sound.

I acquired this guitar so I could have a house guitar that guests can use instead of grabbing my Martin D-28 or my 50 year old Hummingbird.
Little did I know that this Blueridge BR140 would be the one everyone wants to jam with. It is the house favorite now.
It is crisp and loud enough to keep up with the D-28 without being drowned out, fingerpicking is effortless, and crisp. It will still be in tune the next day after three or four people play it the night before. The open gear vintage tuners are sweet. These guitars are underrated, it may not be as good as my Martin D-28, but it is just as easy to play, low action right out of the box, fast, and buzz free.
One other thing, the photos do not do it any justice. It is finished to perfection the wood grain is awesome, the workmanship is of good quality.

UPDATE:<-----
I have been using this more and more for noodling and practicing scales the easy on the fingers set up lets me practice for much longer, and rag time finger picking flows effortlessly. I just can not say enough about this piece, I take it places I will never bring my treasured guitars, i.e. the back porch, the pool the park, and parties. I almost feel like I am giving it rough treatment, but it has held up nicely and tunes right up and stays in tune, witch is usually a P.I.T.A with most inexpensive instruments.
And No I do not work for Blueridge.

I have had mine for about 4 years now. just a hint wider neck than my D-28, makes for nice finger picking. I put K/K transducer so can play plugged in. well made and pretty to look at...

I have played guitar for over 20 years... Blueridge makes great sounding guitars for a fraction of the cost of the big names. This is my first Blueridge and honestly, if you are considering buying a guitar in the 5 or 6 hundred dollar range, you would be a complete fool not to buy this guitar. I have had some nice guitars over the years... I have played in Nashville for several years and this guitar sounds as good (acoustically) as any of my other BIG name brand guitars... Call any music store across America that carries this brand and theyll say the same... This guitar is the absolute best bang for your buck that you will find.

With guitars like this Blueridge BR-140A, you can only justify the cost of a Martin D-18 if you are a brand snob. This guitar plays every bit as well, sounds as good and it built with quality, solid wood materials. The neck is a bit thin, but I like the 1 3/4" nut width and the attention to detail is superb. The bracing is impecable and the tone goes for days. The only knock I can think of is the cheap tuners. I got this used on Amazon, so I would never pay ful retail, but on sale or at used prices, this is simply a "no brainer".

I don't typically write product reviews, but I felt inclined to write this one. Last week I purchased a BR-143. I played many OM & 000 models and it came down to 2 models and those 2 were the BR-143 and the Martin 000-28. I liked the neck feel of the Blueridge better than the Martin. The sound quality of both of them was a amazing, clean, and punchy. If you strum an open chord you can hear every single note. There was nothing muddy about the sound of either guitar. I really like the sound of the Sitka spruce top paired with the mahogany back and sides. The construction of both guitars is superb, and the fit and finish was amazing with no signs of sloppy glue joints. Next, I turned my back and asked the salesman to play each guitar several times and I could not determine which guitar was being played. So it really came down to how they felt and I liked the feel of the Blueridge over the Martin. Now here is the good part, the Blueridge is about a quarter of the price of the Martin. Talk about value and bang for the buck. Oh yea, did I mention that is pretty to look at too?
