4.0 out of 5 stars Vintage Headphones, March 10, 2009
By FOB$ (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews
These headphones remind me of the Hi-Fi setups in the 70s and 80s. Wood baby! The photos do no justice. The wood grain is totally visible in person. Even the wire is brown, really cool look.

The medium in-ear buds fit me perfectly, it feels like I'm in a custom theatre room when I wear them. Good isolation, great bass, these things smoke my Smoking Buds, no contest. Didn't really monitor the burn-in period, but they sound better now than when I first got them.

Only complaint is the wire isn't the fabric type that doesn't tangle or catch easily. When the rubber of the wire catches (collar, zipper, etc) you can hear the vibrations, but that's also due to the great sound isolation. Take the good with the bad.

Great headphones at a great price. Don't buy them because I want them all!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars $29 @ Wally World ...kind of an impulse buy., October 17, 2009
By 3MTA3 "Stratocuse" (Syracuse, NY) - See all my reviews
Wish I shopped around a bit more for these. But since I was earlier shopping Shure and Klipsch earbuds, $30 didn't seem too bad, and did I mention they're wood?

I don't know if the wood makes any difference, but I'm happy with their sound and looks.

A few reviewers mention a lack of treble and I have a theory. The cheapy ear buds that come with Ipods are OVERLY trebly. And compared to those, YES these don't have as much treble. But IMO thats a good thing. Ipod earbuds fatigue my ears with their harsh sound. I can finally listen to my Ipod for hours with these.

Same theory goes with the bass. Cheap earbuds lack any bass, so these with a little positioning, you can get very good bass response without becoming muddy. But at first listen it may SEEM like too much bass.

Anyways, I'm sure there are a lot better earbuds out there, but for $15 - $20 these make a fine upgrade from the cheapys.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just one thing, August 1, 2009
these were probaboly the best set of headphones i have ever baught, the one time i spent more the $5 for a set too, for that price it paid off $14 (from Amazon cheapest place i found them the manufactures sells them for like $28) i really cant complain at all. they have the best sound quality i have heard from headphones that were not abnormaly big either. the wood headset is the best idea ever and they cancled outside noise pefectly. my only complaint is that they broke within a week but thats because im a Barber and i use them for work so i had one headset in my ear and the other one hanging so when i bent downt to pick something it just so happend to get snaged on something and pulled a little bit so the right side went out within that first week of having them. Very dissapointing. there was some disturbance when it rubbed against the zipper of my barber jacket or the cord of my clippers but should be expeceted with most headphone

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much bass, poor construction
These might be ok for very casual listening, the bass muddles up the rest of the music in many songs, and the ear pieces are just stamped together. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price.
After dropping my Shure E2cs and the left one quit working I was off to find a replacement set of ear phones. I decided I did not want to pay $75 like I did for the Shures. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh, they look great...
... but a pretty package doesn't make up for a poorly made product. After a few weeks, you guessed it, one of the buds die.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wood is good - and these may last
Like the preivous reviewer, I well remember the early solid-state stereos with wood end panels and big beefy wooden speakers. Wood is good! Read more
