No one can possibly lose or misplace this lock pin!! The chain is long enough for almost all applications I can think of. Only wish it were stainless wire/cable which is what I use on all my trailer/truck hitch pins so that they do not "walk away". A very common and aggravating occurrence. Of course I have to make my own which takes quite a bit of time. In the long run it is well worth it considering the frustration and time lost, at the worst possible time, when you need to get a job done and the pin you need has magically disappeared.

Nice feature with the chain but the first time I used it to secure my ramps on my car trailer one side opened while driving and drug on the ground and became missing in action. I was very fortunate that I did not lose my ramp while driving at freeway speeds and was shocked to find out that what happened when I stopped to take a break after 2 hours on the road on my 1100 mile trip. Luckily I had tie-downs in my truck and was able to secure both ramps so I could continue on my trip. I suggest drilling a hole and also using clips to prevent this from happening. I will replace the missing coupler pin with chain and drill and clip it and the problem I believe will not reoccur. Using the tie-down is more of a pita then adding the hole and clip IMHO.

Must have lost 10 or more of these coupler pins over the years and decided to give this a try. I use 2 of these pins on our 5th wheel hitch. I simply attached each chain to the hitch using a stainless bolt/nut/washer and when I needed to reattach the pin, it was there. Seems to be zinc plated so rusting should not be an issue.

So if you're like me, constantly misplacing these pins, buy this product but make sure you attach it to the use point. It will always be there when you need it.

Very quick delivery ...ordered Wednesday and received Friday!, exactly as I hoped it would be. I couldn't expect it to be super robust since that would not have fit the hitch on my trailer so it is perfect for my application. The chain attachment was no problem as I used the extra long lock I had been using to secure the hitch. When I need to lock it I still can...in the meantime the easy but secure pin will work great. I have a giant lock, that has a ball and a big arch that covers everything, but having options makes me happier. This fits the bill for my Texas car hauler and I will find out next month if it will work for the boat trailer. Then I can buy more for the other trailers (there's quite a few little truckbed trailers and boat trailers...old timers). Hopefully this review can stand the test of time.

If you've used a wide variety of pins to lock down your trailer on the hitch, or if you've lost a few and that's why you are looking at this one, I think the chain will solve a lot of that. Other than that, it's just a dog gone trailer pin.

Replaced the pins which secure the trailer ramp in the underneath stored position. The original trailer pins had become slightly bent, corroded, and a little rusted from winter use. The 2 pins are holding up nicely. They have not bent, corroded, or rusted after their first winter.
