Easy to install, Weather cover for lock broke first time I opened it. Without cover moisture and cold weather caused the lock to freeze. I heated the lock but broke the plastic handle off the key when I attempted to open. Called Trimax to order replacement key but was told replacements are not available. Emailed Trimax a few days later and asked if warranty would cover an inoperative wheel lock if I broke second key. No response so I tried again, still no response. I don't think I will puchase their products again.

Being faced with a possible theft of my equipment trailer, I needed to look for ways to secure it and make sure it stays put. This chock lock is AWESOME. It grabs hold of the wheel 14" wheel very well. It locks and hardly moves. The locking system is unique, to say the least.. in a good way, of course.

One recommendation- make sure you get a set of lug nuts that locks your wheel onto your trailer. A thief might bring along a spare and change your chocked tire for his leaving your AWESOME chock lock and tire where your trailer used to be! Ha! You need to be one step ahead of the thief!

The first time we used this, we spent about thirty minutes getting it on, and half a day getting it off! First, the key inserts very roughly in the lock, so it's difficult to tell if it's all the way in or not. After many tries, we finally got the key to work. Second, getting the parts to fit the first time is awkward, and difficult, and forced us to lay on our side trying to get the pieces to line up correctly. The good news is that once installed, it looks like it will be a real deterrent and should work fine. But it's not quick to put on or take off. Overall, I would rate this about a 3 - it does a good job, but what a difficult tool to use!

Someone posted that it was hard to use, like it took 1/2 hour to learn it. I had mine on the wheel, locked, and back off in 30 seconds, seriously. I'm only posting because that negative review caused me to pause before I eventually purchased. I had a much better experience.

I just went out to hook up my camper in order to depart for the Ski Valley 2 weeks ago. I went to unlock the wheel lock and the lock was seized up. I tried lock lubricant and all. I ended up having to cut the lock off with an Angle Grinder cut-off wheel.

I live in NM high desert where there is little precipitation. Rust or corrosion should not have been an issue. I guess it just goes along with the rest of the crap that is being manufactured these days. Good news is that a thief would not have been able to remove it without great difficulty.

I bought 3 locks and two worked fine. the third was flawed-could unlock but could not open the part that wraps around the wheel. It would not disengage. Finally got a return authorization. Sent it back and Wyers product called back to say they fixed it, however, they wanted me to pay another shipping fee to send it back to me. They sent me a faulty product, I paid shipping to send it back to them and they wanted me to pay more shipping to get the fixed product.
This is bad business. I told them to keep it and give me credit for the product.
I will buy another Trimax, but will stick with buying from a store where I have return power for defects.

The unit itself is well constructed and designed. The little plastic pistol grip on the keys are not. The existing hole in the plastic is to small to fit any standard key ring, even the cable type. The hole is to close to the edge of the pistol grip to be enlarged. I attempted to drill a larger hole in the center of the pistol grip on my drill press using properly sized bit and slow speed. The plastic shattered. I ended up melting the plastic off of the brass key and soldering a brass ring on the back end of the key.

Make sure this fits into your trailer wheel before buying. It kinda fits my wheel but the rear arm won't really pass between brake drum and wheel rim so it's not a perfect fit. But it seems to do the job as a lock. I don't see the chock feature as of any value, the prong that is supposed to dig into the road is too short to have much grip on asphalt or dirt, and useless on cement.
