I'll keep this short, the bait is shockingly effective. Fished this bait last weekend on Saratoga Lake (NY) and was slamming nice bass and pickerel, roughly 1 fish per 5-10 casts. Prior to that was using traditional lures of various types (poppers, rapalas, etc.) and only got one hit in 90 minutes. Switched the senko worms and was catching fish like crazy. These things are amazing, just run a circle hook through the middle and cast, let 'em sink while keep the line moderately tight, the hits will come shortly thereafter...well worth the money.

Senko worms are worth every bit of the hype. Blue Pearl Silver is my absolute go-to color in murky water. Keep in mind that these worms are not blue at all. The sheen in the sun has a bluish tint, but it is almost negligible, especially in murky water. Just watching these fall weightless is amazing. The wobble is almost magic.

My only gripes are price and lack of durability. The lack of durability I will attribute to the action. Similar stick worms do not have the same action; bottom line. But I can go through two packs of these in a day no problem. The price bothers me only because it continues to increase steeply over time. I understand simple supply and demand, but many fisherman are literally priced out of using these amazing baits, and that's just bad for the sport. Other stick worms are still good, but nothing truly mimics a Senko.

Purchase with confidence, as they are truly one of the most effective baits ever put to market. But buyer beware; you will go through them pretty quick on a Texas-rig.

In reality, I love it. The Yamamoto Senko 5" is my primary bass fishing bait. It produces time after time. I generally fish it wacky-rigged, but have also had success using it Texas-rigged, especially around brush piles and other hook grabbing features. Fish it slow, let it drop, small jerk, reel a few turns to bring up the loose line, pause and repeat. For some reason, Senko-look-alikes don't do the trick. You need the real thing.

However, although I've gotten many great bargains from Amazon, I can't say I love this price. I have never seen the 5" package listed anywhere near the suggested list price of $10.68. In fact I've never seen it higher than $7.99. Gary Yamoto lists it on his home page at $7.69 (baits.com). Bass Pro lists it at $7.79. Our local bait shops sell them at $7.99. These are not sale prices. Listing this as a 25% discount is a disservice to Amazon and to Amazon's customers.

I fish fresh water everyday. I only use this bait. So far I have caught 49 large mouth bass, as of may 29.. When fishing for large mouth the key is to let the bait sit at the bottom 4 afew seconds, people make the mistake of reeling in to quickly. let them see the bait. I also hook it right at the top. people who see me do that say I will never catch fish. well I have caugt 135 the last two and a half years. it looks more natural. U know the old saying if it anit broke dont fix it

There are a million different soft plastics and a million different soft plastic worm baits. Some are more effective then others for me and the senko is one of them. They have very poor durability but I think it goes hand in hand with the action. They are on the more expensive side as far as plastic baits, but they consistently catch me fish and because of that, despite the cost, I keep buying them and will continue to do so. Wacky rings will help increase the durability a bit and I use them a lot when I wacky rig these.

Wacky rigged or texas rigged weightless these have a tremendous flutter on the fall and trigger a lot of strikes for me. Watermelon is a color that seems to out perform any other color I have tried so far. I use everything from the 3" senko up to the larger sizes. I catch a lot of crappy on the 3" size.

One of the best things about senkos are they are a joy to fish with. Easy and effective. Anybody can catch fish with them. I take people fishing with me who do not fish, often times I rig them a senko and in no time they are catching fish and having a blast. I find few things funner than working a senko and then suddenly seeing that line take off!

When asked what bait he's using, my husband will reply, "the Gary Yamamoto black worm of death.". Lol. We both have been fishing all summer and have used a variety of different color worms. Without question, the black ones have been the top producer and we have two shelves stocked with bass in our upright freezer to prove it. I even caught a northern with one! A close second would be black with blue flake and then a speckled watermelon green color. I do wish they were a bit more durable but I really can't complain when we catch up to 5-6 fish on one worm. They get pretty chewed up but still work great. A must have for bass!

My father and I live and fish in Western New York. I never buy fishing stuff for my dad for holidays because he has *everything* and doesn't need more fishing stuff. But, after reading the reviews, I thought I'd get them for him, so we could give them a shot. I bought him the watermelon ones. Turns out this is probably the only bait in the world he doesn't have already (lol). We went fishing and weren't really catching anything with our other baits. So we decided to try these out. They're good and fat, and though I didn't think the fish would really see them, we really did good with them!!! As soon as we put them on we started getting bites pretty quick, and lots of nibbles too. The fish really seemed to like them! We caught lots of bass down in the Niagara Gorge. We were definitely impressed with how fast our luck changed after putting these baits on. My only complaint is that they don't take a beating from the hook very well, we broke a couple of them fairly quick, but really... small price to pay! It's worth it to catch a fish!
