A soft and safe window seat for small dogs
A great choice for small dogs up to 30 pounds, the Kurgo Skybox Booster Seat gives your pup a comfortable, secure car lookout seat while helping to prevent interference while driving. It features metal supports for structural integrity, a waterproof exterior, and a reversible, washable liner that's easy to keep clean.
The booster seat installs quickly and securely on either the front or back of a bucket seat or the smaller side of a 60/40 split bench seat. Secure your pup by attaching the adjustable tether the seat belt or to any dog harness (recommended for use with the Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness; sold separately).

My Jack Russell mix terrier has always liked to ride on my lap. But with a new baby on the way I need to change the rules! He likes the skybox so far, and even gets into it on his own. He is a little over 14 lbs. and about 14 inches tall (long legs). This booster seat supports his weight no problem and the sides are just barely tall enough to surround him well. He actually likes it! It is big enough on the inside for him to lay down with his chin on the side to look outside. The skybox seems very well made with the metal frame and cushy pad in the bottom. It was a piece of cake to install in the backseat of my Toyota Camry. I just released the back seat latch to lean the seat forward and attached the strap around the seat (the strap goes behind the seat within the trunk compartment no problem) and I have headrests in the back too. So with both straps attached it seems very very secure and doesn't move at all.

The positive of this item is that it is very sturdy and easy to install. I have no doubt that it could hold 30 pounds worth of dog, provided that the 30 pounds was very compact. But I have a large Shih Tzu, and while he weighs only 18 pounds, he is long and tall. (Still within breed norms, though.) This box is a bit of a squeeze for him. Check out the picture I have uploaded of him to see how he fills the box.
That said, the box does its job of keeping my Kali out of my lap, which is his favorite place to sleep while I am driving. A couple of notes on clipping your dog in: The strap ends with a large clip to attach to your dog's harness. They say that the harness provides the most safety for the dog. You will want to buy a harness, if you don't have one. Some may find the clip too large to fasten onto their small dog's gear.
There are zippered pockets on the exterior sides of the box. They are a bit tight to access. Putting treats in there will either make your dog crazy, or keep him interested. The pockets could also hold a small leash. I actually use the area under the box for this, since it is suspended a good six inches from the seat.
That said, the box does its job of keeping my Kali out of my lap, which is his favorite place to sleep while I am driving. My dog loves it. I was concerned that either he might not like it or that it might be too small, but neither was the case. He loves it. He was a little hesitant to get into it at first go, but after we started moving, he sat still. He really enjoys being able to see out the window of our Outback and it is cozy, but he finds it quite comfortable. My dog weighs about 20lbs and has a long body but fits quite nicely in there.It also feels very stable and secure. Easy setup and break down if needed.
