Edit, 3/28/16: Putting stars back to five after being informed of current Amazon price, which is approximately what I previously considered a normal grocery-store price.

Edit, 3/7/13: With this edit, I downgrade this excellent product from 5-stars to 1-star. The soaring price is completely out of control.

The already highish price for my last order six months ago has now gone completely crazy, IMO. Plus, they are no longer offered as a "Prime" item, although the 3rd party vendor is offering free shipping. They darn well should. The price has increased by about fifty percent since my last purchase, which also shipped free. Probably has to do with the difficulty of shipping these fragile cookies and customer blowback and returns. Whatever. They are still available at Trader Joe's and, sometimes, at regular grocery stores. I am not a super cost-conscious shopper, but I don't want to be a complete fool either.

I found these great little cookies looking for anything low-salt in the cookies/cakes/pastry line. I will admit that eating one is not exactly the same ecstatic experience as eating a really top-quality brownie.

But that's a good thing, I've decided! They are delicious but don't seem to bulldoze willpower in the way that a super sweet, buttery-rich treat does. They are very crispy, similar to a hard biscotti but still easy and pleasant to munch on because they are thin and bite off easily.

And not only are they low in salt, they are also quite low in calories. I like a little something sweet with my coffee in the mornings. A couple of these cookies gets it done for me for at a remarkable 67 calories!Read more ›

These are wonderful biscuits. They are thin (about 1/8 inch or 4mm thick), and very crisp, which makes them ideal for dipping in coffee or tea. Lots of almonds and raisins so the flavor is good and the texture pleasingly complex. Also, they are healthy -- low fat, etc, and only a bit over 30 calories per biscuit, so you can eat a few extra without suffering a pang or two of diet regret.

I would have rated this 5 stars except that, as at least one other reviewer has noted, they are not always well packaged. Mine arrived with some biscuits broken into many pieces, a few of them just nibbles. I don't know how common this problem is, but these biscuits need to be protected from crushing blows during shipping. I have written a separate message to Amazon advising them of this problem, and it may not be a continuing problem. My experience is likely a rare mistake that even Amazon can make.

Update 1/31/13. As mentioned above, I wrote telling Amazon about the lack of adequate packaging. I got a quick response apologizing and saying that they were sending me more biscuits, even though I had not asked for them. I wrote back saying don't send, but it was too late. The new biscuits arrived even less well protected than the last. They were loose in a box too large with no packaging protection at all -- just rattling about. The last shipment had air pillows on two sides (out of six). I eat the biscuit pieces and enjoy them, but if you order these, know that my expectation that this is a rare Amazon mistake may not be corrected; the biscuits may show up bite sized.

Love these little cookies! They are crunchy with the almonds, chewy with the little raisins and are not too sweet. I enjoy them with coffee and tea. I discovered them at the local Wal-mart a few weeks ago. They sold out last week (maybe I bought them all!) and have not restocked so I went looking on the internet for them. Voila! Amazon has them plus a few more flavors from the same company! I ordered these and the the Ginger. These are still my favorite.

The packaging was good - maybe too good - the box was twice as big as the volume of the cookies and had those air-filled plastic "bubbles" filling up the void. I am pleased my cookies arrived in good shape but not sure all that packaging was needed.

These sweet treats are really something to write home about. They are crispy, slightly sweet but enough to satisfy any sweet tooth. The blend of raisins and almonds are perfect. Just make sure you take out only a few, 2 or 3 might do it, or you will eat much more than you intended!

I bought a 6 pack because I love these cookies, but this shipment tasted off. The expiration date is 12/11/15 so it had not expired. The weird thing is that the nuts do NOT taste old, so maybe they changed something in the cookie. Very disappointed .

Complete disappointment. I love the gingerspice flavor of Almondina. They are harder to find than any of the other flavors so I decided to look for them here. The price seemed right, even cheaper than retail would be if I could find them at a store. When the 6-pack arrived, I ate one right away and wondered if perhaps the memory was better than the reality. Then I checked the expiration date...while it was still 4 months away, these completely broken up Almondinas tasted pretty pale and somehow dusty. When I next saw Almondinas in a store, I found that the exp. date was over 2 years away. Clearly, I have been duped into buying old stock cookies that may have not been stored properly. Scamazon Strikes Again!!!
