I thought this first official live DVD was worthy of his 40+ years in the music industry. He is a true legend and this is his version of MTV Unplugged. The sound quality was amazing in 5.1 digital surround sound. Picture quality was also very nice, I like the lighting and the intimate setting of this small stage. We all know he could have had an arena full of people. The new arrangements on these old songs that are loved by so many and the different key he sang them in was only complimented by the Jalisco Philaharmonic. He sang his songs with such emotion it made the hairs on my arms stand. He is truely one of the most gifted and loved singers from the Aztec country of MEXICO. A must have for all music lovers. My only complain was that he did not sing Volver Volver.

I have been looking for a DVD-like quality, stereo-sounding, mariachi concert video for the last 7 years and the closest to this was Juan Gabriel's concert DVDs (which are good) but are not completely mariachi. As popular as Vicente and Antonio & Pepe, and other established mariachi bands are, I am surprised and very dissappointed that only until now, did someone release a mariachi concert DVD of Vicente...nonetheless, the DVD is excellent quality and very nicely done.

My only dissappointment with this music selection was that there was only 1 (maybe 2 if you include Guadalajara) 'fast' or upbeat songs (La Ley Del Monte) which clearly received one of the evening's loudest applauses/ovations from the crowd. Sure all of the other songs were enjoyable, but too many slow/romantic selections...it should have had more 'upbeat' selections. Despite my comments I still enjoyed the concert and recommend it to any fan of this music but it defintely leaves me wanting and wishing for more upbeat songs every time I watch/listen to it.

Realmente que despues de 40 anos de carrera artistica valio la pena la espera, esta coleccion de canciones especialmente en este concierto suenan muy bien, lo unico que no es de muy buena calidad es la imagen especialmente si se ve en una HDTV de 50" o mas grande, pero a pesar de esto es un buen concierto que yo recomendaria a cualquiera que le gusta la musica de " chente "

This is a great double delight if you love Vicente Fernandez. You receive both the DVD to play for a wonderful feeling of actually being at his live concert and also the CD for beautiful music at home or in your car. You will arrive at your destination like I do humming along with all of his fantastic hit songs. Both are a combination of vibrant Ranchero music and lilting love songs. I believe that the joyous audience participation adds a lot to the excitement and feeling of the music and I recommend this combo CD/DVD very highly. If you have no other Vicente Fernandez CD's, then this is the one to buy. One of his very best!

the video was shot at his private hall on his ranch. you can see his wife which was cool to see for that one moment because usually he is surrounded by cover girls.

the video is i'd say 3.5 or 4 out of 5.. colors are a bit blue because the hall isnt too bright. not to detailed but looks hd. audio is very nice.. it didnt blow me away but the instruments(mariachi) are each distinguishable which is rare so that sounded nice.

he plays keyboard on one song..

Five Stars is not enough to describe another stupendous musical presentation from El Numero Uno of Ranchera Music. Even for those that have never heard of his music, Vicente Fernandez delivers from his heart the utmost feeling of respect and esteem for his listening audience, with a passion and purity that only a select few of entertainers ever achieve. While Vicente is enjoying life into his seventies, he delivers his songs with a fire and passion and at times able to envoke sorrow because he not only feels this passion, but is able to communicate his sincere feelings to his audience via his songs. This is a proud and humble man that was made for singing Mexican Ranchera music as only few can. Vicente's musical interpretations range from singing material written by Jose Alfredo Jimenez, an icon in this musical style to new material written by Joan Sabestian. While older generations of followers may remember some songs interpreted by Pedro Infante, Jorje Negrette, Franscisco "Charro" Avita, and Jose Alredo Jimenez, Vicente has learned well from these past giants, in that Vicente Fernandez delivers his songs with the perfect tonal range and harmony now after five decades of a professional singing and acting career.
