This was not a good product I am very disappointed with it. It tells you how many dvds it can hold. So we filled up the cabinet... doors included. But when the doors are full of dvds they dont close! they just swing open so you have to lock it everytime, which is a pain to get it locked because you have to reach behind this bar and if theres movies there then its kinda hard to do! I would NOT recommend this product!

When I ordered this I was expecting more, especially since it said it could hold up to 210 DvDs. As soon as we got out all of the pieces we realized it wouldn't hold that many. It can hold a lot of Blu-ray movies since they are shorter than DvDs, but the way the shelves are there's just no way to put that many DvDs in it.

It's wasy to put together which is a positive. One problem with the assembly is that that when we started nailing on the back piece, the wood cracked but we were able to avoid any further cracking by placing the nails in slightly from the edge. The other problem we had with the assembly was with the lock on the door without the key. The door didn't line up with the lock and when we tried to screw the mechanism on so that it would line up, the wood stripped so now one door will lock but the other won't. Hopefully the appearance of the locked cabinet will be enough of a deterent for our children.

When we started putting the shelves in we ended up with a lot of wasted space. If the cabinet was just two inches taller we could fit an entire additonal row of DvDs in both doors and the main cabinet.

Fortunately for us, the box did arrive on time, a day early actually, and with all of the hardware. We will still have to buy another cabinet in order to store all of our DvDs but we would have anyway since I seriously underestimated how many we have! However, I think we may go with a different brand in the hopes that the claims of number of DvDs held may be accurate.

This cabinet seems at first as though it might be difficult to assemble but for the most part it was easy, as particle-board furniture goes. It could be sturdier--the cardboard-like backing is really the major thing that shores it up--but it's not as rickety as some similar items. The elongated foot board at the bottom keeps it from leaning forward or back.

It does hold a lot of media, which was the point for me, and having storage in the doors is unique and useful although I have concerns that the weight of full doors might cause problems eventually.

The locking facet is a neat addition but be sure to look over those parts closely before getting to the end, otherwise you'll end up having to backtrack as I did to make it all line up right.

Aesthetically, this is a very nice item for a living room with all-black furniture, and considering what particle-board furniture costs these days, the price that I paid wasn't too bad.
