We absolutely love having this automatic waterer-- all of our chickens and ducks have taken immediately to it, and it saves so much time and energy. It took a little bit of fiddling to figure out exactly how to adjust the water level to where we wanted, but it wasn't overly complicated. It's sturdy, easy to pull off and clean, large enough to allow several chickens and ducks to drink at the same time, and deep enough to let ducks get their full bill into the water to wash.

I have had this for several years. It has been great. I installed it with pvc pipe in kind of an upside down U. I had to put some wire on top so the chickens wouldn't roost on it You have to pour a bucket of water in it occasionally to rinse it out, but no hauling water for the chickens. Recently the water level kept getting lower. After taking the assembly apart, it was obvious the valve was defective. The valve is the same as the valve in automobile, bicycle tubes. I had some in the garage as well as the tool. You can get them at any auto supply or bicycle shop. Only took a few minutes and the water level is back to normal.

Perfect for turkey's, ducks, etc. Easy to keep clean and big reservoir. Very easy to keep adjusted by screwing two nuts under the quick release bowl up or down. I attached it under a 5 gal bucket for a chicken tractor and later for turkeys. They seem to drink more than with the small chicken cups or nipple waterers, it's fairly easy to keep clean, and much dryer than the nipple waterers. I don't know of a better system for ducks and turkeys, but it should work well for a wide variety of critters that need a reservoir between chicken and dog size.

I love that my dogs and cat always have water. All of the non commercial automatic dog waterers are made of crappy materials that rust out within a year, and commercial ones run $100+++. They are a little tricky, but you can adjust how full it gets. Once its set though, it is good forever. Yes you do need to spend some money on fittings to make it all work. I have one inside that shares the cold water supply to the washing machine. One outside on the garden hose.

The metal pipe tread is larger than the bowl it turns into. If you wrench it in, the brass flakes off and the thread in the plastic bowl comes out. No matter how I try to turn it in, it won't stay straight which isn't good for balancing the bowl to be hung. Either a bad design or I got a defective product.

I had a little bit of trouble getting it hung in the coop so it shut off when the bowl is full. It kept overflowing. I finally got it hanging straight and no problems. Fresh clean water for my pet chickens!

The valve doesn't close all the way once the bowl is filled with water. The thing just keeps running and made a huge mess inside my chicken coop. One of the worst products. Save your money.
